View Full Version : Flower Power Wash Cloth

I've seen the cool flower washcloth that several of you have knit...and I don't have the book, my library doesn't have the book...I can't seem to get my hands on the book.....so.....I winged it and wrote my own pattern.
Yesterday I wrote one that began in the center and increased outward, then the petals were knit...well, I don't really like that one. So, today I wrote another...this one has turned out okay....I may still fiddle with the decreasing, but, all in all I am pleased with the outcome. I will now knit a few using the yummy Blue Sky Cotton ;)
This one was knit with size 6 circs and TLC Cotton.
I will put the pattern on my blog tomorrow ;)

I love it. Please let us know when you post the pattern. I have some verigated Fantasy Naturale cotton that I got to knit the other flower cloths but know I want to use your pattern.

 Becka - you totally blow me away with your ability to actually create patterns. It's one thing to be able to knit, but designing what you knit is taking it to a whole different level. And that you do so amazingly well! :notworthy:

Thanks, guys!!! Ya'll are all just too sweet :D
I played around with yet another way to knit this washcloth...this one has raglan decreasing.
So, thus far there's the Very Swirly Flower Power washcloth (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/rebeccame/2006%20a%20new%20year%20in%20KNITTING/smDSCN2060.jpg) with several spiral decreases. Then there's the regular Flower Power Washcloth (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/rebeccame/2006%20a%20new%20year%20in%20KNITTING/DSCN2056.jpg) and now I have knit the raglan decrease flower power cloth :D

Rebecca! Kudos to you! Those are great flower cloths!!!!
I'll have to knit yours and compare to the ones I made from the book and see which I like best. I like the centers of yours a lot!

Wow! Those are beautiful! :-) Someday I'll stitch a few! I like the ones with the swirl to the middle.

You GO Becca! I'm so proud of you! I've been wanting to make these, but like you, I couldn't find the book with the original design in my library either. If you were here, I'd give you a hug!
Thanks for going through the trouble of figuring out the design, and going one step further by adding variations! Cool!

I saw a kitty in the picture. INTRODUCE YOUR KITTY. :pout:
Great work. Insanely happy for you.

Certainly...most everyone knows Moshi...he's my huge solid white kitty...He lives here with Sally (our Doxie and ruler of the roost) and Chloe (our parakeet). I'm sorry to say that we recently lost Bo, our parrotlet and Snuggle, our tuxedo kitty...but we are all adjusting...finally!
Here you have it...photos of our camera hog...Moshi the Mighty.

Aw! Po' you.
Mo is gorgeous! Did you make the kitty bed? I want to make one for my kitty. She currently sleeps on my tummy. Or on my head if shes feeling adventurous.
I seriously believe that me kitty became happier when i became a knitter. She now has more important things to knock off tables, yarn to chase, balls of yarn to unwind....projects to sleep on...yarn to eat...
Why DO kitties like boxes....? :??
08-14-2006, 11:41 AM
LOL, sounds like you have a lovely kitty! As for why they like boxes, I don't know...Mo likes to climb in anything. Yes, I did make the bed, several of us here at KH have made the kitty pi (http://wendyknits.net/knit/kittybed.htm) cat bed...I had to enlarge the pattern for Mo, though...he's a huge cat...15-17 lbs!
It's quite odd, he doesn't really bother my knitting much...he does love to "help" me with the yarn winder, trying to get the yarn as it's winding. Other than that, he doesn't mess with knitting much other than licking the ziploc bags that my yarn is in (I keep my yarn in a ziploc bag when I am knitting). Don't know why, but his cat LOVES to lick plastic...what's up with that  ?!
08-14-2006, 01:24 PM
My cat has a thing for fake plants. And she eats the house plants.
Although i think that's for fiber.
I remember watching Looney Tunes cartoons when i was little. And Granny would knit and Pussyfoot would lay on her back push the ball of yarn up and down with her feet.
I have yet to see my cat do that. Once she gets a hold of yarn, she attacks it like a primal animal that hasn't eaten in days. of course, when i have trouble making two same sized pom poms, those are hers to keep. :D
I made her a ball a while ago. She sleeps with it now. Maybe Mo would like one!
