Here it is! An open cable scarf - yarns came from Michaels - 100% wool. It took me about a week, knitting on and off, without cable needle. It will be a birthday gift for our friend in Sweden.
The link to the pattern is here:

I thought of doing double knot fringe but I cut the fringes too short so this would do it for now. The picture didn't do justice of the cable design details.

Gorgeous! I LOVE that yarn color. A lovely salmon pink, almost a lipstick-shade! Beautiful!
What yarn did you use?

Thank you all! :muah:
I like the color a lot, too. I used Classic Wool Merino by Patons - color 00230- came from Michaels - took about 2 skeins. I still have a skein of the same color and an off white color - I may do another one with alternating color and next time will be double knot fringes. I know now how long I need to cut the yarn for double knot fringes.
Cable design is always attractive to look at and it's not even that hard.
Becca: I went to Wild Fibre last Saturday - Jennifer, the owner, was soooo nice! I posted some pictures of the yarns that I bought from her in my blog.

I love both the color AND the pattern!! Lately , I have fallen in love with scarves again since I've learned a bit more about yarn overs, kt2togs, and cabling!! (Finally!!) When I was just able to do the fake fur garter stitch scarf, I was truly bored and STILL I did that cause it was the only thing I knew; now it feels good to spread your wings a bit, don't you think??
I love the cabling--do you use a cable needle or are you using the non-needle method? I am doing the latter, and with the yarn I'm using right now (Karaoke), it's working great!

Thanks, Ellen! I didn't use a cable needle because the scarf was cable intensive so it saved me a lot of time by not using one.
Good luck on your project!
