View Full Version : Washing cloth for babies or no?

My friend's baby is six month old already. I want to knit him something but want to be a little different than just sweaters. I am sure he already got blankets or afghans 6 months ago. Is washing cloth a good idea for babies or it is too hard?

If you use a soft cotton it would probably be just fine. They have some cute patterns that would good for a baby, too.

What about a toy? I love to knit soft toys for babies. Blue Sky Organic Cotton is VERY soft and since it's organic, safe for baby to chew on!

I did wash cloths for a friends baby out of Paton's Grace on size 3 needles, using a regular size pattern and they came out smaller. I spoke with her after she had a chance to use them and she said they were perfect and SO soft. Here is a link to a picture of them on my blog:

For a wash cloth that's soft try Cotton Tots.
