View Full Version : OK - So I'm not sure how to feel about this....

I was trying to find a design to incorporate into a bag I was going to felt and I decided to do a Google search on knit images.

So, I went to the Google site, clicked on their images link above the search bar and typed in the word 'knit'. I couldn't believe what the first image was and had to click on it to make sure my eyes weren't fooling me. BTW - I would post the image in this message but I'm not sure how appropriate it would be.

Anyway, my husband was sitting next to me trying to help me figure out a design and when he looked up at the screen he just screamed with laughter :roflhard: . Mind you, it was 12.30am and between the both of us just roaring, we woke everyone up. I let my 17 year olds look at the picture, but my poor 9 year had to miss out.

Well, if you guys have a chance to go on Google and look at this, I would love to hear how you feel about it.

BTW - My husband wants me to make one for him....he's a chubby guy and thinks it would fit well.

I have "moderate safe search" on ... the kids use this 'puter often. So, I didn't get the same image you did, BUT, I STILL got a *really* weird knit item on mine. It was a knit sweater you could *not* wear in public. Let's just say it might work for breastfeeding if you never needed to leave the house and didn't mind looking stupid.

That's the image I'm talking about.

It was such a simple search and I couldn't believe that would be the first image to come up on the screen.

I thought it was hilarious but I'm not sure it's a cool thing to come up with such a simplistic search.

yeah, I also got this picture, but I can't remember I put safe search on my computer, because I'm the only one who uses it.

08-17-2006, 10:29 AM
Oh my

08-17-2006, 10:37 AM

Is this the sweater at the top left with the woman's whoo-haaas sticking out of the front of it?! If so, ummm where would you wear something like that? Umm, nevermind. :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

08-17-2006, 10:47 AM
I wouldn't but my husband would...he'll do anything for a laugh.

08-17-2006, 10:51 AM
My husband doesn't have enough "chest" to fill it out! :roflhard:
Oh I so needed that laugh today, thanks. :-)

I had to turn off "strict safe search" to get it.

08-17-2006, 12:12 PM
I just don't see myself knittin' that one :roflhard: :rofling: :roflhard:

08-17-2006, 12:13 PM
Wearing it would be the larger problem, I imagine.

08-17-2006, 12:15 PM
Holy moly! :chair:
I wonder why that one comes up first?! I'm sure the only reactions she gets are :psst:
That is bad!! Bad waste of good yarn! Or maybe it was a short sleeve sweater pattern with pattern a little screwed up....I'm trying to rationalize this thing.... it's not working.

ya' know maybe we're being overly critical of it......maybe she just messed up the arm holes!!! :roflhard: :roflhard: I can see myself (major newbie) doing something like that..........although I can't imagine proudly wearin' it! :roflhard:

08-17-2006, 02:30 PM
Um. Burning your bra is one thing, but knitting a sweater to prove it? That just seems silly. (This almost makes willy warmers sound respectable!)

(This almost makes willy warmers sound respectable!)

I'm afraid to ask.

08-17-2006, 02:35 PM
Well I looked at it and I think that you must be mad, firstly to make it and secondly to put a picture of it on someone on the internet.
I do some pretty silly things for the ske of it, for charity, just for fun and to get noticed but even I would only wear that in a house with no windows in it, so that no one could see me in it, and if I were breastfeeding at the time. :passedout:

My friend was knitting gloves and when she had finished knitting the thumb, she showed her family, at which point her brother suggested knitting condoms!

08-17-2006, 03:18 PM
who in their right mind???

08-17-2006, 06:07 PM
Oh my!

08-17-2006, 08:21 PM
Might be good for the nursing Mum...lol

Rhy

08-17-2006, 08:30 PM
my 5 month old that nurses would like it, but there's no way I'd knit or wear something like that. how distasteful!  :oo:

WOW....uhmmmmmmmmm......dude......I don't think that's going to make my top ten list of things I want to knit.....

08-17-2006, 11:48 PM
I'm afraid I missed out. When I googled 'knit' the first thing on my list was a site for learning knit and crochet. I feel so left out. :pout:

Oh dear. I wonder how they thought that up. It kind of reminds me of a dog sweater. You know how they have the sleaves in the front for thier legs.

08-18-2006, 08:20 AM
Well, if it's a BIG dog, you may have solved the mystery!

08-18-2006, 09:06 AM
Or, you can make several holes to accommodate the dogs breastfeeding their pups.

I like how the third picture in this image search is Amy's hands showing off the knit stitch! Go KH!

The sweater...... there's no accounting for taste.
