Hi everyone, I have never used DPNs before but I got a GREAT deal on a huge set with all different sizes from Ebay so it's TIME to learn! :cheering:

I'd like to make my first hat for my dad for Christmas...can anyone recommend a relatively easy hat pattern? And do I need to have his head size to make it or can I just estimate for an adult size?

Thanks!

This (http://www.mielkesfarm.com/bsic_hat.htm) site is great for making a hat pattern to your own yarn, needle and head sizes. It's also good for a first dpn project because you can start with a circ and switch to dpns when it gets smaller. It's much easier to try dpns on established knitting the first time than to try to cast on and start the first row. Once you get the hang of them, then starting with them is easier.
