I need a pattern for a knitted dog sweater, its for a dog as small as the "taco bell dog". I cant seem to find many myself & the ones I do find are for bigger dogs.

Perhaps you can find one here (http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory/pets.php).

yea those are either too hard to understand or too big for the puppy. not to mention I only have one set of circular needles (no $ to buy any others) and hopefully having misc. needles from an auction from my mom's soon.
it has to be about 8 or 9 inches from neck to base of tail maybe smaller than that.

Perhaps this (http://www.thedietdiary.com/cgi-bin/chart_dog.pl) pattern that you can customize will be helpful.

I made one for my little Shih Tzu 'Tess'...all i did was measure from the back of her neck to above her tail, then i measured from under her neck to her mid-belly ( making sure you leave room for unspeakables) :teehee: So you have two rectangles, sew together with your yarn, then pick up stitches around the neck & arms if you want a cuff...
Here's a pic, she LOVES this sweater & gets all excited when i did it out...just not today, she's havin' a lazyyyyyyyyy day.

Tooo Cute!! I don't know who is furrier the doggie or the sweater>>>
I love the yarn.. it looks so light and fluffly... I aspire to make a doggie sweater in the next few months.. my friend has already put in her request. for christmas.. I just haven't ever made a sweater..!

I didn't have a specific pattern, so I was please with the way it turned out, all my gf's laugh & say she looks like she's getting ready for a "Red Hat Society" party...lol. Red & purple...you can't really tell in the pick, but the red body of the sweater is variegated & has some purple..so she's matching.. :teehee:
You Can Do It Toooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :cheering:

Here's one that I used on my Boston Terrier last winter. Easy with 2 big needles and uses chunky yarn.

I think I'm gonna take the pattern with me & on the way to and from my mom's in minnesota, this weekend, I'll do it... figure 8 hours should be good enough time to do at least some if not all of it.
