I was wondering what people thought of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran or Baby Cashmerino. I was admiring it at the store. It is very soft and lovely. Supposedly it is also machine washable. I want to know how it turned out when washed. Is it machine wash dry flat? Does it hold up? After using and wearing it would you use it again?
Considering using one or the other for a sweater or my soon to be 1st grade daughter. Or maybe even me.

I'm a huge fan of Cashmerino...it's soooo wonderful to knit with...though I can't speak to how it holds up, 'cause I've given away everything I've ever knit with it. :D Hands down, it's my favorite yarn for baby things.

Hi there. In theory, I love Cashmerino. I knitted some longies in it, though, then threw them into the washer and dryer. Unfortunately, they felted a bit, which suprised me. Perhaps they were in the dryer on too hot a setting, so that could have been my fault.
Still, I own oodles of the stuff and am pleased I do. I plan to knit more baby things with it.

I have a mountain of it myself, and though I've only knit a swatch, it is lovely to knit with. I have heard that it pills, though. It's possible that it does because it's so soft. It's not going to stop me from using it, though. I can shave the pills, because the softness is worth it.

I made half dome for my brother from Knitty with it - it knitted like a dream!

I have made some baby things with it. But only very special delicate things that don't get that much washing. I really baby it, I only wash it by hand and let it air dry.
After a first handwashing it looks the tiniest bit fuzzy. But not in a bad way, in a glorious way, it is softer!
I stick with Plymouth Encore for all my big kid stuff. I would be crushed to get a stain on my Baby Cashmerino.
