I got a flyer in the mail the other day from my favorite LYS. In the class listings, they have a series of classes that a guest teacher is flying in to teach. Her name is Ingrid (can't remember the last name). I read it and thought "wouldn't it be cool if it was Ingrid from KH?!"

:verysad: No such luck! How cool would it be, though, if yarn shops around the country would fly me in to teach a class. Wow!

Dream on, Ingrid-who-is-not-the-one-in-the-flyer.

I'm not sure I'd be comfortable flying Ingrid anywhere these days*sigh* but wouldn't it be fantastic to have her and a bunch of other KHers at your home for a week? Just talk, knitting, wine and munching. Ahhhhhhhh.

I think Ingrid should just get her own tour bus and travel the country, going from LYS to LYS, and KH'ers homes with her knitting classes and seminars!

I do think it would be cool to meet Ingrid. Heck, I'd pay to take a class with you! You've already helped me so much with knitting. :) I can only imagine how much more you'd be able to do in person rather than over the internet.

My problem with teaching people to knit is that what is obvious to me is not so obvious to the student. I learned this when I was recently teaching my son's girlfriend. I think of all the things you need to know and try to blurt it all out at once. It seems overwhelming. I guess I'm just afraid that someone will be unhappy with plain knitting and quit, so I tend to go overboard. I'm good at answering questions, but I wonder if I could really teach a class.

It's funny -- whenever I'm talking knitting with friends I'll find myself saying "I bet Ingrid could explain that to us" etc..., which generally leads to explaining about KH, and all you online friends :D

So...count me in the Ingrid Fan Club! :notworthy:

:grphug: In a virtual sense, we do! Except I have tea instead of wine, and there's a "no munching at the computer" rule around here because of crumbs in the keyboard!

Bad embarrassing or good embarrassing? Because if it's really bad embarrassing, and it's not just modest embarrassment at having people say they love you in public, I can take it down.

I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeely don't want to, though. :D

I'd follow Ingrid around on her tour like a Dead Head... I'd be there selling needles and skeins and things, being all cool and getting into the spirit of it all... Maybe dancing to music that you can't hear....yeah...

I'd call myself and others like me "Knit Heads" and or "Grid Heads" and we'd say "Yo man, we're following the 'Grid... wanna join us? It'll be massive... Hop aboard while we follow the cloud-covered van of knitting harmony, man!! Woooo!!"

Peace man...

HH! You should have a warning on that one, someone may spit coke all over the screen.

And I could be wrong but I swear Ingrid could pull a line or two out of that as a new signature line.

Also Ingy oh wise and powerful one, can I petition you to add another 10 hours in each day? Then I'll be able to fit in some "me" time to read the forums, catch up with INGAPALOOZA AND even do some spinning and knitting =D

Ingrid, you're right. Lots of people belong to this website and we all contribute in ways that make it great. But without you, it would be a little less bright and a lot less helpful. I call you superingrid because a good 9 times out of 10, you're there with the answer before anyone else is, and that's a gift, Ingrid, a Gift! Take pride in your giftness! let us adore you! (and if you really can't stand it, don't worry, it will end up being a KH fad like the duck avatars and stuff, so it's ok, it will blow over)
