This is just so anyone like me doesn't make the same mistake.

KnitPicks Andean Silk felts in cold water. It also felts on the delicate cycle in a front loading washer with no agitator.

Bummer. Sorry to hear that, but thanks for the heads up!

But it's not machine-washable, so how should one wash it at all?

If it's not machine washable and felts even in cold water, i would stick it in a dryel bag in the dryer.

You should be able to wash it by hand.

Wash it by hand in what temperature of water? If it felts in cold water, it shouldn't matter if that cold water is in a bin in your sink or in the washing machine, should it?

Maybe you can contact knitpicks and ask them what to do.

All right, I emailed them to ask. We'll see if they email me back. >.>

I'm knitting with this right now-- the label instructions do say to hand wash in cold water.

I'm glad for the heads up though, I've been known to be a little reckless with my hand-wash stuff. Sorry your knitting felted, OP!
