I was so excited when the Bare superwash (http://www.knitpicks.com/yarns/itemid_5420145/yarn_display.aspx) came out, but I'm confused. I know the Kool-Aid dyeing is only supposed to work with animal fibers, but they have the Kool-Aid tutorial linked on the page. Is 75% wool enough for the yarn to work with Kool-Aid? (I love dyeing things, but I HATE handwashing!)

I kool aid dyed some 75% superwash/25% nylon Opal sock yarn (natural color) and it worked really well. The kool aid turned clear in a matter of seconds -- well before I put it in the microwave. I'm not sure how normal that is since it was the first and only time I've dyed yarn, but I was pretty amazed by how fast it took the color. If the KP yarn is anything like the Opal, you have nothing to worry about.

Excellent!

Now let's see if I can avoid buying needles while getting my sock yarn... *exercises willpower*

Willpower is overrated: get the needles! *enabling*
