Yay! my first FO. well.. not true, I knit two dish clothes a few weeks ago, but I really love my new baby hat! It actually turned out a little small for my little girl, but that is okay as we plan on having more babies and it gave me a size to go by! I am currently knitting a hat for me in the reverse colors... charcole with fushia stripes.

Very cute! I haven't yet ventured into the world of two-color knitting. Yours looks really nice!

I just cast on 60 stitches on a round needle and K1, P1 until I had about an 3/4 of an inch in ribbing, then I Knit it all the way to the top. I decresed after about 4 inches of knitting at a rate of ...

K8, K2tog for a row, then I knit a row, then I K7, K2tog for a row and so on.

I switched to 3 needles when I had about 30 stitches remaining.

adding colors is easy! I just matted my yarn together (wool) or you could tie it too I guess!

Thanks!!!

Hey Mo0nAngel, the 60 stitches that I cast on made a very tiny hat. I just finished the one for me and I made it with 90 stiches.

I will have to adjust the pattern though.. I knit up for about 6 inches and then decreased and it made it a tad on the big side. Perhaps 80 stiches would have sufficed? Or maybe only 5 inches high before decreasing? I am so new at this.. can anyone offer some help?

I find the top of the hat decreases a little funny also.. any suggestions on doing it differently?

Also, my ribbing on my hat turned out to be tight. I just K1, P1 all the way around. Is ribbing nicer if you K3, P1 or some other variation? how long would you make the ribbing? 1 inch? more?

Thanks!!!!! I'm loving this!!

I will post pictures of my daughter and I with our hats really soon! Promise!

Hi all,

Here is a picture of my and my baby girl in our hats. Mine is a bit big but that is okay cause I can pull it down over my pony tail without it popping off my ears!
