Being a Malabrigo virgin, I am trying to figure out if I will need one or two hanks for a decent width and length scarf for me!! Anyone? :??
According to the MMMM website a shop about 30-45 min from me carries it and I am thinking of making a detour while running errands tomorrow... :teehee:

2 would be good - 1 will make a nice scarf, but it would be thin and not too long. CateKnit's made one with 2 hanks that looks great. You can see it here (http://doublepointed.net/).

I made a scarf with only 1 skein using the scrunchable scarf pattern, and I think it turned out to be a pretty good size. I actually just bought another skein in a different colorway and am thinking about making the same thing again!

I guess it depends on how long and wide you want your scarf! I knit this scarf (http://whimsicalknitting.blogspot.com/2006/05/touch-of-whimsy-scarf-pattern.html) with one hank and it is 5" wide and 5ft long, my personal preference is for a longer scarf, so this one goes to my sister for Christmas cause she likes this length.

Awww, Sara linked to me!
That one is exactly all of two hanks and is somewhere around nine feet long. I love long scarves. :cheering:
