Hi!

I'm new to this site and I love it !!!

It's so complete (I didn't know so many techniques existed to cast on). I knit well but I realize that I still can learn stuff. I read all the post in "What'cha'knitting?" - many beautiful projects.

This is where I found out that people knit and felt. I love the bags and I want to knit a bag for halloween for my kids to put the candies in.

But I don't know how to felt and I did a simple search but I didn't get the step by step method and what type of wool you need ....

Please be so kind to tell me where I can get a felt 101 explanation.

Thanks

Here is a good article (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter02/FEATfelting.html) to get you started. The most important thing is that you use 100% wool yarn (animal fibers) no cottons, synthetics, or even a wool/synthetic blend, also nothing labeled 'superwash'.

look what I found ... exactly what I wanted ... the pattern of a "trick-or-treat halloween felted bag"

Here is the link http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/klw-trickOrTreatBag.html?noImages=[/url]

This one (http://www.magknits.com/Oct06/patterns/1201.htm) is also VERY cute. It is labeled as intermediate, I don't know if you're at that level or not but it would be just perfect for trick or treating.

WOW !!! it's very nice. I think i'm gonna make this one to hold the candies that I'm giving away to the children.

Thank you!

too little time, too many things to knit...

The nice thing with felted knits is that they're almost always done on large needles so the knitting part can go quite quickly. Good luck!!
