View Full Version : I have resigned myself

I swear, my wheel is not going to come until next year, if ever. It's making me crazy. :wall:
I've spun over 2000 yards on my spindle in the last 3 weeks. I try not to think about how much faster the wheel would have been. I keep looking at these piles and piles of roving I still have to spin (at last count, over two pounds) and the thought of spindling it all makes me    ...not that I don't enjoy it, 'cause I do, but man, I really, really can't wait to get my wheel.

What happened, did Woodland Woolworks not have it in stock??!! Oh my gosh, I am still waiting for an answer from Fricke to the emails and voicemails I left before I found WW had it in stock. Have you considered calling Carolina Homespun (also a dealer) to see if she has one in stock and changing your order?
I feel so frustrated for you!
p.s. you are gonna LOVE it when it finally arrives!
10-06-2006, 12:05 PM
Paula, Woodland didn't have any more in stock so they are having it drop shipped from Fricke. (uh oh, they never answered any of my calls or e-mails either.) If I don't hear anything by the 2 week mark, I will call somewhere else -- I did put an alert on my credit card so they will e-mail me if/when the charge goes through.
In other news...I finished dyeing your roving today :happydance: I dyed it once and it was a little too bright-cherry-red, so I overdyed it and it is now a fab deep red. :D As soon as it dries (a day or two depending on the weather) I will get it in the mail to you!

That 2 pounds won't last long once the wheel gets there! Better go looking for more fiber!!!
10-06-2006, 05:10 PM
I pout for you, Julie :pout:
10-11-2006, 10:50 PM
Julie, Sure thought by now you would have your wheel. This is just so unfair!
p.s. can't wait to see the roving. Sounds YUMMY!
10-11-2006, 10:59 PM
I mailed it yesterday, Paula!
I'm laughing at the thought that I will finish spindling all of this yarn, then my wheel will arrive but I'll be too tired of spinning to use it. :roflhard:

, then my wheel will arrive but I'll be too tired of spinning to use it. :roflhard:
Nope, won't happen - never too tired of spinning! :happydance:
10-12-2006, 12:04 PM
I agree - won't happen! I am just fascinated by this nifty wheel.
As far as the fricke delay, :wall: I can't decide whether I think this is why there are so few dealers or whether it's such a cool wheel (like the wait for the lendrum) there is a long wait for it. I prefer the coolness.
10-12-2006, 12:46 PM
Julie, any news yet? I'm on pins and needles over here for ya!
10-12-2006, 01:00 PM
Nope, no news :wall:
I put an alert on my credit card (they will e-mail me when I get charged), because I know once it's shipped they'll put the charge through. So now, in addition to stalking the mailman, I'm checking my mail constantly like a total nutcase.
10-12-2006, 01:19 PM
I'm sorry. That would make me crazy.

Bless your heart!

I knew there was a reason I didn't get that brand! I hope your wheel gets to you soon.
10-16-2006, 12:46 PM
Alllllllll riiiight! I just talked to Fricke and they were out of town for two weeks, which explains a lot! She was soooo nice, and offered to e-mail me the conf as soon as it ships, which should be later this week!!

Goodness you still havn't gotten it? GEEZ!
10-17-2006, 01:45 PM
Once I knew it was being drop shipped I figured it would be three-ish weeks...I just wish they would have put a notice on their site or voicemail, explaining that they were out of town. But yeah, whatever...the price was totally right, and if I'd had to cancel I'd have been back to the drawing board, researching and picking out another (more expensive) wheel...
I'm just so psyched that it's going to ship this week and I'm going to be able to track it :happydance:
10-19-2006, 01:14 PM
:cheering: It shipped yesterday! It's on a truck, headed fro meeee! :cheering:

What does drop shipped mean?
10-19-2006, 09:09 PM
Drop shipping is when you order from a dealer (like Woodland Woolworks, in my case) and they don't actually have the item in stock -- it's shipped from a different location (the manufacturer).
10-19-2006, 09:23 PM
You are gonna LOVE it!
10-23-2006, 04:33 PM
Did it come today???? :happydance: :cheering: :happydance: :cheering:
10-23-2006, 06:20 PM
It came!! :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
I'm going to post pictures & details on my blog...but I promised myself I wouldn't open Photoshop until I finish the work I've been neglecting today :out:
In a nutshell: It's fabulous and my first skein is drying and it's not nearly as horrible as I thought it would be!
10-23-2006, 09:26 PM

10-24-2006, 08:11 AM
