View Full Version : 1 ball of wool project for something for baby?

i know it seems like an odd request... But my nearest wool shop is quite a journey away, and i'd like to start something new after just completing my first ever (successful) knitting project (a simple blanket)....But nothing thats going to take too long - otherwise it won't be finished in time for baby's arrival. I have one ball of lilac wool. Oh and my needles are a 4mm (if that makes a difference?) Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I would make a cute little hat.

how many yards in the ball of wool? you might be able to get a hat & bootie set out of it.

Well... I THINK its 105 metres... I have 3 hurdles here tho...
1 Knitting is still very new to me
2 The info on the label is in German
3 Germany doesn't work in Yards

:wall: :)

Liking the idea of a little hat, i'm just browsing the pattern section.

105 meters is roughly 105 yards. Wait, this (http://www.fibergypsy.com/cgi-bin/fiberlinkmanager/measurement_converter.cgi) site says it is 114.87 yards. So yes, "roughly" 105 yards. :)

I agree with the idea of a hat! Or many--you're going to have a winter baby, hats are critical. ;)
