This is a little crazy (http://cgi.ebay.com/Trekking-126-Sock-Yarn_W0QQitemZ230040227644QQihZ013QQcategoryZ36599 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Can a single ball of wool/nylon sock yarn really be worth over $40? Or am I missing something here?

Not to me..especially when the original price appears to be about $15. They don't have the exact color on this site, but they appear to be the same thing. Unless I'm missing something..

:?? I wonder if some bidders thought the socks were included? I remember last year that a pair of unfinished socks went for something like $40.

I suppose there might be people who collect discontinued colors...who knows?

Trekking is wonderful yarn BUT...no way I would pay that much for it. There has been someone on Knitters Review who has been looking for that specific color and no one has it so it may be unavailable. Still there are plenty of others that are nice.

OK, my mom made fun of me for paying $25 for sock yarn. I wonder if she would try to have me committed for $45?

Um, that does seem steep.

I can not find a color I like for me personally of sock yarn. I'm not a huge sock knitter. But I think if I did find "the color" I would buy it, cause I knew it would be going into socks, not sitting in my stash. I have a lot of stash that I will eventually just give away. And it definately adds up to more then $40.

So yeah I would do it if it was discontinued color or a one of a kind handmade yarn. I would do it without a twinge of guilt till about $80. Then I'd do it and just feel guilty! HA!
