Hey guys. I haven't been on here in awhile! Such a cute baby! I was wondering if any of you know a yarn store that carries Reynolds Signature, or maybe a website that sells it?

lestrella

:woohoo:So, where exactly is the store located?

katiebug, maybe laura carries Reynolds signature and you can order it from her.

I haven't had a chance to knit this whole week. Can you believe that? I guess I can be knitting now instead of being here but I'm just too tired right now. When my husband is out of town I don't get a break. And now with the puppy...he definetely keeps me busy. He is doing great though.

BTW, I updated my flickr photos with FOs from April and May. Check it out!!!

I can't believe school starts in 3 weeks. :woohoo: It's time for the knitting club!

I'm excited but nervous at the same time. During open house I'm going to have a display table in the school lobby. I need some ideas. I was thinking about putting a basket with different kinds of yarns for the kids to feel it. Also, displaying some of my finish projects and bring in some books and patterns. Help me out please! I've never done this before and I want to shine. I want the principal to be pleased and excited about it.

Neato!!
Laura's yarn store is open! :cheering:

and Lestrella is starting to teach kids to knit! :happydance:

Laura, tell us the name and address of your shop again, and let us know if there is a website.

Lestrella, did you decide what to do about knitting needles for the kids? Maybe it would be a good idea to let them purchase their own at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. I think if they make an investment in the craft, they'll be more inclined to stick with it. :)

Or, you could teach them how to make their own with that wooden dowel tutorial I've seen online.

The store is called "A Strand of Purls" .

Directions from Hwy 321:
Turn onto 2nd Avenue (beside Mc Donalds-right turn if going North, left turn if going South)

2nd will become a one-way street, stay on this until you come to intersection at HWY 127(main 4 lane road) turn left.

We are down 127 about 2 miles on the left beside Udderly Delicious Ice Cream.

Please tell me who you are so I can put names/faces together!!!

We were thinking about buying them all together and maybe that way we can get some kind of discount. However, I just got some wooden dowels, I'm going try to make my own needles and then teach them how to do it.
We can probably make our stitch markers as well. I just learned how to do them with Artlady's tutorial. I made 4 so far. I just need to keep practicing the "neck" wrapping. It's kind of hard when you don't have the right tools or the money to invest on them.

So, when can we see each other? Would you come over and visit? I just don't want to leave the puppy alone for too long and my husband is out of town.

I spoke about getting together in another part of the forum, but can't remember where it was.

Anyway, I can't come to your house, because I'm allergic to dogs! :pout: We can do a quick cup of coffee if you want!

However, I just got some wooden dowels, I'm going try to make my own needles and then teach them how to do it.
I made some and gave them to some children at my church. I just used one this weekend to teach a real crafty kid how to bind off. I found that making the points was easiest using a band sander or even a pencil sharpener. It will take some time to create a good needle. I got hand cramps making eight of them. You will need to use some fine grit sandpaper (400 grit is best) to polish them to a smooth workable surface. I'm not sure if young kids would have the patience to make their own. it took me about 45 minutes to make two good needles. Worth the experience not so sure about the loss of time - I'd rather be knitting. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip tommy. I know exactly what you mean. I tried making one yesterday and I didn't like sanding it out. I will probably do them myself just for the heck of it. Now that hobby lobby has 50% off on all knitting supplies, I think I will just buy their needles. It would save me a lot of time. I still need to check with the school first. I want to make sure that I will get reimburse later as I don't really have the money.

Sandy if you are free on Friday, we can meet at the starbucks near hobby lobby.

BTW, here is a picture of my first stitch marker. Next time, I need to keep in mind the "neck coil" and make it a little longer so the beads don't interfere with my knitting.

Has anyone heard from babybear?

Shandeh
08-06-2007, 10:52 AM
I like the stitch marker!

If you're looking for input on handmade stitch markers, here is my opinion.

I prefer for my stitch markers to have a solid ring at the top, with no break. Because, the break in the ring catches on my nice yarns. Also, I don't really like a lot of extras on them, because, they interfere with my knitting.

(I rarely use stitch markers anyway, and when I do, I tend to just use cheap plastic rings.)

I bet you're having fun making them!

I'm looking even more in the future. I want snow this winter. I'm originally from Iowa and I feel cheated! I swear, McDowell and Burke counties are in some sort of snow void! We got just a dusting the past two years and I want more! Come on snow!!!!!!

(Plus I'd really like a chance to wear my nordic wool sweaters again. I miss seeing them on rather than in my sweater box. :eyes:)

Shandeh

Yeah, the snow is stingy here in Charlotte too. But, some years we get several feet! It never stays though. It melts away pretty quickly. We just get stuck with lots of ice, and no trucks to scrape it off, so the roads get really bad. If it snows here, we just all stay home.

Well....unless we run a business or something.
(but I think THEY should stay home too.) :teehee:

Here's a video I made of the little bit of snow we got in Charlotte last winter:

Yeah, we had fun together. It was a "spur-of-the-moment" get together for some of us in the Charlotte area.

Lestrella and I met for coffee at Starbucks this morning, then wewantmore called to say she could meet us at Hobby Lobby. Then Doodknitwit called as well. We wandered around Hobby Lobby for a while, causing some frustration for a couple of us that got lost. (That place is HUGE!)

We also had time to grab a bite to eat at Chick-Fil-A, while Doodknitwit left us to go to Cottage Yarn. The day went WAY too fast, but it was fun. And Doodknitwit was right....the heat was SCORCHING today!

Here are the directions Laura (tmsl) gave us before.

Directions from Hwy 321:
Turn onto 2nd Avenue (beside McDonalds - right turn if going North, left turn if going South.)

2nd will become a one-way street. Stay on this until you come to the intersection at Hwy 127 (main 4 lane road). Turn LEFT.

Hey guys,

I was browsing through the forum and I found this comment about Laura's store in one of the threads. These is exactly what it says:

"Thanks, Amy. I am excited to find your forum. I just want all viewers to know that I visited the new yarn shop w(A Strand of Purls) in Hickory, NC, on Friday and it is fantastic! The store is so inviting, and the selection of yarns is not to be believed!!! I have been knitting for years, and I have never seen a shop so perfect for knitters of any age. Good prices and wonderful customer service, too. Go and see for yourselves!

Well, as misha pointed out, now we have TWO events on that date!

tmsl's NEW yarn shop in Hickory is willing to let us come and have a get-together that day. (The shop is called "A Strand of Purls".)

And Cottage Yarn is having a sidewalk sale that day from 9:00 - 5:00. (Everything outside will be 40-50% off!)

The only thing I will be able to do is go to Cottage Yarn for a quick glance, because I have to play organ for a wedding that day.

I had to share a display table with another club so there was no much space to display things a little better. Well, what matters is that everyone was impressed by my FOs and the kids were really excited about learning to knit :woohoo:. My Orange blossom doll was a hit.

I'm posting some pictures of my display table here but if you would like to see the rest of my FOs click on my flickr photo link next to my signature. There are just way too many to upload them here

Boy is it storming here. We need the rain, but all the lack of water we've had and these winds are not a good combo.

Samantha is growing well. Had her one month check up on Friday and she's 8 lbs 8 oz. (birth weight was 6 lbs 14 oz)

I had a nice quiet weekend, with two kids gone. I cleaned out all the kids toys. Threw tons of stuff out and boxed up others for a later date. (they just had too many to choose from and I was tired of the mess)

:verysad:I'm sorry you guys won't be able to make it today. Last time I didn't spend that much time with you and I was hoping to see you again today and get to know each other better. Oh well...

I'm glad to hear the Samantha is growing well and that you had sometime for yourself (sort of) this weekend.

Ok, I better go and start preparing things for school. Today is my son's first day of school and his first time taking the school bus. Let's see how that goes. He is not too thrilled about it. He got a great teacher!! She had called twice already within the last 5 days just to see how he is doing and to tell him how excited she is that he is going to be in her class and that they are going to have so much fun today. How cool is that? I already love her!!!!:woot:

You won't believe what happened to us today. As you all know, my son was riding the school bus today for the first time. Morning bus was late for about 20 minutes but off he went.

After having a great time with Shandeh today, I came back to wait for my son anxiously at the bus stop. I couldn't wait for him to tell me everything about it! To our surprise, my son didn't get off the bus. I went inside the bus and started calling his name but no response. I almost :passedout:. I started to panic. My husband started to panic. The bus driver just look at us and didn't say anything. I was mad :tap: and scared. We ran back home and tried to call the school I don't know how many times. The line was either busy or there was no answer. I send my husband to school while I stay trying to get in touch with the school and waiting at the corner just in case he was sent in another bus. This has been the scariest moment of my life. I was just thinking about my baby being lost somewhere, scared, hungry. To my surprise, I got a call from a really nice lady telling me that she had my son; he got off at the wrong neighborhood. I don't even know how she got my number but I'm glad she found me. My son was hysterical, crying, scared. He didn't want to go into the lady's house...'cause you know how we are always taught not to talk to strangers. Luckily, the neighborhood was close to mine so I just went through my backyard looking for her house. It was a really scary experience. He is fine now but it took us some tiem to calm him down. And of course, he doesn't want to ride the bus tomorrow. I don't blame him.

I'm still shaking...

Where is everybody? What have you guys been up to?

Well, I've been been doing a lot of Zumba this week. The Zumbathon is tomorrow if it doesn't rain. I'm beat so I don't know if I'll have the energy tomorrow to do it.

I've been knitting little things here and there. I'll post pictures once I get my camera back. My husband took it to Italy this week.

I'm really excited because my son is knitting now :woohoo:. On labor day I taught him the knit stitch and he did a bit chunk of garter stitch. Today, he learned to purl all by himself and he is doing the stockinette stitch. It's so cute to see him doing it because he sings while he knits. Or, when he's in the bathroom he makes up songs about knitting. Isn't that cool?

Yesterday I went to the Michaels on Pineville and told them about my knitting club and ask them if they would consider giving us a discount since we have to buy supplies for 20 kids. They say that they don't give discounts. That's consider charity donations and it has to come straight from corporate. I was so disappointed! Oh well, I just hope that we get some donations thru the parents at school.

Lestrella, I think you should check with the school about how they handle supplies for other clubs and groups in the school. I would expect that parents pay a fee for supplies for activities like that. You could have them pay enough to cover a set of needles and yarn, or you could give them a list of supplies they need to purchase for their child to participate.

What kind of supplies do you need? I have 3 sets of size 7 or 8 plastic needles. I was going to send them to someone but she didn't need them. You are more then welcome to them.

What kind of yarn are you using?

In personal news. Kayla fractured her finger SWIMMING. Don't ask, we don't know. Crazy kid would only hurt herself doing a 'sport' I always felt was injury free. Silly me.

Anyway. Joseph is now potty trained. He decided last week that he was too big for diapers. So we are now all un'erwears (his word) Even at night. :woot:

Samantha is well a 7 week old baby. She gets gassy at night and from about 4pm til 10 is on and off crying/sleeping. It sucks, but this too shall pass. Right?

I haven't gotten much knitting done. I did finish a steering wheel cover for my Mom. (Thanks Sandy for the 'pattern') I'll mail it out to her when I finish one for my Aunt and Gma.

I borrowed a book about knitting socks from the library. I think it's a brand new book and I am the first to borrow it. :roflhard: Now just to find time to read and knit. I also have 2 other 'self help' books I'm 'reading'. Ceaser Millan's Dog Whisperer and You on a Diet by Dr. Oz from Oprah.

I need something to FREEZE time so I can get some ME time.

Did anyone get that rain last night. Man I woke up and was like "what is that noise?" then realized it was rain and did a little happy dance in bed.

Wewantmore, I'm sorry about Kayla's finger. Is she doing better now? for potty training. It took me forever to potty train my son. He was doing great at home but the daycare didn't help much. One time he had an accident in his class and I'm sure one of the teachers made a comment to him about not being a big boy because that day he came home crying saying that he wasn't a big boy and I had to send him back in pullups. I think he was traumatized after that because he still doesn't like to use the restroom at school.

Thanks for the offer on the needles. But are you sure you won't need them. Maybe Kayla would like to learn how to knit.

shandeh, I hope you are feeling better.

It seems that I will have about 20 students on my knitting club and there will be about 15 more on a waiting list. i was supposed to start with 10 only, but there's been a lot of emotional problems because the kids ( or should I say the parents?) want to get in so bad. I mean, it's wonderful to see all that enthusiasm but, at the same time, I can't take them all at once. I don't want them to be frustrated. I want to be able to dedicate some time to each of them individually.

Ok, I'm really hungry now and I can't think anymore so I'll check on you all later.

The DOT didn't really say why they chose to change the color:

http://www.ncdot.org/dmv/hot_topics/PlateRecall.html

(there's a link in there to a PDF file about the recall that gives a little more info, but the only thing about the color is that they're changing it.)

Lady Violet
09-19-2007, 09:37 PM
wow. i didn't realize they're replacing the old ones, too. that seems kind of, well, superfluous.

"Removing old plates from our roads will increase the safety and security of our drivers and provide law enforcement agencies with an updated identification tool."

how exactly? as far as i can tell, all they've done is change the color. wouldn't improved road conditions increase the safetly and security of NC drivers even more? just my two cents.

Lestrella I don't need them. I bought Kayla a pair of bamboo needles to learn on.

The DMV are just messed up. I agree spend the $$ on the roads.

Kayla's finger is doing better. But yesterday at swim class, Joseph went under. He lost his footing and couldn't 'right' himself so he was face down. I jumped in. I saw it happen and knew he wouldn't be able to pick himself up. He was only in the 'baby' pool so 2" of water max. Still very scary. He held his breath the whole time. He was a little scared, but was fine. Even got back in after a potty break.

Then he fell in the locker room and cut up his elbow.

I am not liking 'swimming' anymore. We've done classes there now for about 4 yrs on and off. It's not like it's 'new' to us.

I know I'm late in responding...but we just potty trained Emma this summer. She was around 3 years 2 months at the time. We had tried when she was younger, but she just wasn't ready. All in all it took her about two weeks to be trained to use the potty during the day and then about two months to catch on for nighttime. She occasionally wets the bed at night still, but hasn't had any daytime accidents. My mother, my sister, and all kinds of other mothers were on me to have her trained. I just listened to Emma and watched for when she seemed ready. My girlfriends all said she would do it when she was ready and not before. Glad I had girlfriends! My mother was making me feel like a bad mom. Oh! Another thing we did....not that I agree with bribery, but we found some fairy dolls that if Emma filled a chart up with stickers from using the potty, she got one. There were six fairies in all, so she was really motivated. (Emma was on a fairy kick at the time...now it is dinosaurs.)

Anyway, hope it helps!

Hi!

As always, just stopping by for a quick hello.

I found out that hobby lobby has all the knitting accessories for 50% this week. So, I rushed there today to buy supplies for the knitting club but I didn't know that they don't open on Sundays. I was so disappointed.

Oh, this morning I locked myself out of my house. I took the puppy for a walk and forgot to take my keys. I told my son to grab my cell phone but he forgot. It was like 8:30am and I was afraid to wake up my neighbors asking for help but I took my chances. I went to one of my neighbors (I used to drive their son to school last year). They usually have baseball games on weekends so I figured the are either gone or getting ready for a game. Anyway, the husband was in the supermarket so I had to wait for him to come back and see if he could open the door for me. He looked a little puzzle at first but he finally figured out how to open it. It took him like an hour but I was so happy to be able to go home.

DH will be back home soon. It's been so long and i miss him so much.

:woohoo:The knitting club went well. I had 15 girls eager to learn and 5 assistants (my son's teacher and teacher assistant, the media specialist, speech therapist and my friend). I don't know what I would've done without them. None of the girls knew how to knit and some of them were getting frustrated. Others, were really excited and they didn't want to leave the room. They were like, "oh, I wish the club was everyday." They didn't get to finish their bookmark, but I let them take their materials home to practice.

My son had to come with me because my husband was out of town. We got to school at 7:10 AM. He was so good the whole time. He drew for the whole hour we were there. He was really excited because some of the girls were impressed with his drawings and they wanted to draw with him too. I told him that maybe next time he can sit and knit so they can watch him and learn from him. He said, "but remember mami I'm not knitting, I'm purling, now." He sounded so cute.

Although our time flew by and we didn't get to do much, I'm glad the way everything turned out. We are all looking forward to our next meeting.

Hey, how did you get tickets for the High School Musical show? That is so cool! Have fun!

misha, have fun at the race too.

I wanted to take this night to catch up with KH but I'm so tired and sleepy that I don't know if I'll be able too.

I hope everyone is doing well and I hope we can plan a get together soon. Who's going to the fiber fest?

There's a local Free parenting magazine (Charlotte Parent) and they had an online 'contest'. You just fill out the form to enter. They have one monthly and my friend has won twice not these tickets, but others and DVD's. I don't think many participate. http://forums.ovusoft.com/image/image.aspx/smile_lol.gif Either way, Kayla and Joseph are excited. I made the mistake of telling Joseph about it. Now that's all he keeps asking. "now we go High School Musical?" Um No.

I'm glad the tickets were Free. :teehee: It was good, Joseph enjoyed himself. Kayla was a tad disappointed that it wasn't the actual actors skating, despite the fact I had given her fair warning of this fact.

I knitted her a tiny little purse, it's cute. I took pictures, but I can never figure out how to upload to this site. When I do I'll post it.

I've been sitting outside knitting while the kids ride their bikes. I LOVE this weather. Windows have been opened since Wed. night.

Nothing 'frilly' but this is the purse I made her. I ran out of 'funky fur' yarn so that's why it's so small. I wanted it to have a flap that I could put a button on to close it. Oh well, she loves it.

:waving: How's everyone doing?

What a beautiful bag, Michelle!!! i bet Kayla loves it!

I've been running around as usual. Time seems to go by so fast that I barely have time to sit in the computer.

The knitting club is doing well, I guess. The girls are still excited but I get a little worry. We haven't passed the knit stitch lesson yet. I'm planning to put an add in the newsletter this month asking for volunteers. It's hard because it's at 7:30am and nobody wants to volunteer that early especially if you have younger kids that you need to get ready for school.

This past weekend we went to the Grandfather Mountain. We hiked for like 3 hours. There was a point where I couldn't go anymore. I frozed. I couldn't look anywhere. I was scared and dizzy. it was a very rocky and steep trail. My son had a blast. He is totally fearless and couldn't understand why I was so scared.

Now, the big news....ta...ta...ta...tan....:woohoo::woot: I'm going to start working soon!!!! Yeah!!The principal at my son's school offered me a job as a TA. I don't know when I'll start but it's going to be pretty soon. They got all my papers and they are only waiting for a letter of recommendation from my old boss in NYC. i am so happy!!! We can actually start getting rid of some of our debts...and buy yarn:cheering::blooby::woot:

I just send an article for the newsletter asking everyone to help in our efforts of providing hats and blankets for the preemie babies at a local hospital during the holiday season. I hope to get a great response.

Since I'm a native Carolinian, and I STILL LIVE HERE, I guess I'm as good as anybody to start a thread for North Carolina knitters.

I was born in Charlotte, and have lived in the vicinity my whole life. I would love to get to know other knitters in the area.

So far in the forum, I've found the following Carolina knitters:
jeskatkel (Dallas)
tmsl (Hickory)
maman (Charlotte)
sop 1 (Charlotte)
hedgehog (Greensboro)
Liliyarn (Greenville, SC)
Danielle (Waynesvegas, NC)
benniesma (NC)
Seedy (NC)
foothills (Mount Airy, NC)

I haven't spoken to all of you, but maybe that can change now! :)

i'll be going to wilmington on saturday and coming back on sunday. i'll be at the wilmington hilton riverside. does anyone know of any LYSs downtown? i would LOOOOVE to check them out while i'm there. besides switching up my knitting atmosphere (and enjoying my trackout  ), that's kind of the point of going. my mom will be there for a few days for an art teachers' convention and i thought i'd share her hotel bill for a night.

oh yeah. last year she went to a great little shop that was run by a lady who's been on several daytime talk shows. she knits really neat little neck things (but they're really expensive). mom can't remember the name of it. has anybody here heard of it?

Hi y'all....I'm a true newbie....new to knitting, new to the board, and somewhat new to NC. We moved from Dallas, TX to Kernersville, NC about 2 years ago.

I'm looking forward to learning from everyone here...I can knit and purl, and that's about it! I learned to make scarves last Christmas and now I'm hooked....but I sure don't understand many of the patterns and the lingo.

I'm currently working on a simple baby blanket for my upcoming new nephew....it's slow going, but at least it's not a scarf!

Here are the directions Laura (tmsl) gave us.

Directions from Hwy 321:
Turn onto 2nd Avenue (beside McDonalds - right turn if going North, left turn if going South.)

2nd will become a one-way street. Stay on this until you come to the intersection at Hwy 127 (main 4 lane road). Turn LEFT.

We are down 127 about 2 miles on the left, beside Udderly Delicious Ice Cream.

i know exactly how you feel. if you're coming to raleigh for "pleasure", you'll want to check out shuttles, needles, and hooks. they're on chatham street in cary, and they're open on saturday 10-4. it's a little old blue house that's really easy to miss if you're not looking for it. there's usually a handful of shoppers in there earlier in the day. it's completely packed with yarn (as in "falling off the walls" packed!), so there's not a ton of room for customers, but the ones who fit are great. i just love knitters. cloud9

does anyone know if the charlotte mall (i'm guessing south park) still has an ice rink? someone on ravelry asked if i knew and i told her i'd try to find out.
There is a brand new full-size ice skating rink in Indian Trail. It's used for the Charlotte Checkers practice rink, and is open to the public as well.
Here's the website:

I go to Shutters, Needles and hooks at least once a month! If I get out of there for under $50. then something is wrong. Carol has all types and kinds of yarn and if you have a problem she will be more than glad to help you. It's an old house and she has it jammed packed with yarn and you have to look in all the cornors. You'll have fun!

We go to the brunch at the office club alot! I doubt if we will go this weekend though. Not sure about our company. Where are you taking your grandfather jewerly shopping at? Rudy's has redone his place, I haven't been there since September but from what Rudy said it was going to be fairly high speed. Bigger for more people. I need to go but I get into trouble there!

the very first time i went to shuttles was actually the first time i could find it - i just told myself that if i couldn't find it by looking, i would stop and ask at the bead shop. that's what i did. turns out i heard the directions wrong or was told wrong and was looking at the wrong end of chatham! :teehee: anyway, the first time was right before i started my job so i was broke. it was a recon mission. ever since i apparently can't leave there without buying some mmmm. at least i have a pattern for all the mmmm i've gotten.

eta: my grandfather already went to the base for medicine without me and got "a little something" while he was there. no "day-after" retail! :cheering:

I've had a change of plans on December 1 and might be able to make it over to Hickory! I was invited to a baby shower here, so depending on what time everyone will be in Hickory, I may be able to swing both and then just go to Raleigh after, or on Sunday instead.

Has there been a time set for the get together in Hickory?

Yay! I'm glad you can come! :)

We haven't set a time yet. What would be good for the rest of you? I'm thinking maybe 1:00?

Question, How fair is the yarn store from Fayetteville! I am about 30 minutes from 95! I am about 2 miles from the Hoke County line! I am on the other side of Fayetteville! Also would need directions there if I can swing it! Thanks

When I looked on Google maps, it looks like it is about a 4 hour drive from Fayetteville.

Do you know if it's between 21st Ave. NW and 22nd. Ave. NW, or is it after 22nd. Ave? I just like to have the crossroads so I know that I did indeed (as usual) pass it the first time.

I'm mapping out my route and putting it in the car so I don't forget it. Seems pretty easy, but I've never really been to Hickory before. Drove through it on the highways, but never actually in it.

The road right past us on the left is 22 Ave. NW. We are BEFORE 22 Ave. NW. The roads in Hickory are a little strange, so please call if you need to 828-327-7875.
I can't wait to see you on Saturday, I even dreamed about it last night!!!!

For those that are coming on Sat., I can get hubby to pick up some lunch for everyone. There is a Firehouse Subs up the street if that works or pizza if you would rather have that. Let me know what you prefer so we can choose the place to order from.

Hi!! :waving:
Laura and her DH and sister welcomed my DD, DS and myself this p.m. The shop is so inviting!! Laura has a designer's eye which is evident in her shop. It is spacious yet warm. there's a seating area where you can be curl up on the sofa...comfortably browsing the patterns and knitting books. Another area with a large table and comfy chairs where you can sit and knit and gab.. She has a great :yay: selection of yarns and notions including some terrific knitting bags, needle carriers, books. It was only 1 hour or less from Charlotte.. and if you head up Hwy 321 there's not too much traffic!!!

We missed Shandeh!! She was groggy after her early a.m. airport trip and helping her DH pack...

Well knitters NC has another great yarn shop where the welcome mat is out!! Thanks Laura and Brian..a beautiful place to gather and be!!! :blooby: :blooby: :blooby:

I was DEFINITELY groggy! :sleepy:
I don't know what came over me. It was weird. I wonder if someone spiked my coffee this morning.

Anyway, long story short, I didn't get to go to the get-together! :pout: I'm sorry Laura and Doodknitwit! :verysad:

Last night, I was up until 3 AM, helping my hubby pack for Vegas, and we had to get up at 5:30 this morning. We went to the airport for him to catch his flight, and I finally got home at 9 AM. Next, I had my breakfast, checked email, then went back to bed. I set my alarm for 11 AM, and put the phone beside the bed in case my hubby called.

My phone kept ringing from stupid bill collectors. :hair: Then, my alarm started ringing. I kept hitting the snooze button, and was in a complete fog.

I continued hitting the snooze over and over again, in a dream state....finally waking completely at 1:30!!!! :wall: I still felt absolutely miserable. Probably from sleeping in 7 minute intervals for the past 2 hours! :teehee:

So, I called Doodknitwit to apologize. Then, my hubby called to say he landed in Vegas. Then I put the phone in the room across the hall, and closed that door. Next, I closed my bedroom door and laid back down....THIS time with the alarm turned off.

I ended up sleeping until 6:30 PM!!
I guess I really needed the rest. :???:

So, I apologize for missing the meetup. What a bummer! :help:

Next time, I won't schedule ANYTHING else on the day we plan.

I have been a MESS today. I found out this AM that Samanta was injected with the recalled HIB vax last Wednesday. I have been so sick over this.

We were delaying her vaxs and the HIB I had down for her 6 month visit but decided to do it now just to save us some money. (we are short about a grand for our mortgage this month. money is so f'ing tight)

I'm so pissed at myself it's not even funny.:cry:
