I am trying to knit this (http://straw.com/cpy/patterns/scarves/kidm-shetlnd-lace-scarf.html) scarf, but it calls for this (http://www.yarndex.com/yarn.cfm?yarn_id=1962) yarn, and I am just wondering what yarn will give the same look for the scarf.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Wow!!!! That's a beautiful scarf. I just print it out and plan on using one of Knitpicks laceweights to knit such as Alpaca Cloud. Guess it won't be quite as fuzzy as Kid Merino (no mohair) but I'm not a fan of Mohair as it seems itchy to me. Since the Kid Merino is doubled in the pattern, I guess you could use a DK weight yarn sub too. I be watching to see if you get any recommendations from others.

That tip about just using a dk weight yarn is great! I didn't even think of that! I prob have some stash I can use up!

Thanks!

I wonder if Patons Divine (http://www.patonsyarns.com/product.php?LGC=divine) would work?? It is acrylic/mohair/wool/polyester blend. It's nice and soft, I've made a scarf with it. It might be a bit too thick though - you definitely wouldn't need to double it.

I looked at the Patons Divine when I was at Michaels this evening, and it just seems too thick for the type of scarf I am making. I think I will go over to my lys this weekend and see what they recommend (and then of course come and show ans tell you what I bought!hee hee)
