Hi! Sorry, I haven't checked this thread for a while. I tend to gravitate to the FO thread first! I am in Cave Creek. Kemp, we're neighbors! Have you been to Bonnie's? MrTea where are you?

Great - there are a few of us here!

Bonnies Yarn Shop is in Carefree in the Spanish Village Center. If you were on Scottsdale road and turned right onto Cave Creek road, you would pass the shell station and then turn right into the shopping area. She is in the first building almost at the left (North) end. Her shop isn't very big but she has a lot of stuff in there! Check it out when you get a chance.

Hi all! I'm new to KnittingHelp.com and a fairly novice knitter as well. I live out in Goodyear. I've seen Bonnie's at Cavecreek -- I only looked yearningly in at the window as we were there for the Wine&Art Show -- it looked very nice and cozy. I've also been to Cotton Fields -- mainly for quilting although I was always checking out the yarn side too -- now that I am clickin' again I'm sure I'll be there even more. I sometimes go to Scottsdale, usually to hit My Sisters Closet, so I'll have to add Jessica Knits to my "hit-list" -- their website looks nice.

I am relocating to Tucson in May to live with my boyfriend. I visited him last week and he took me to both Purls shops (on Oracle and on Broadway). It was my first LYS experience and I am in LOVE.

Are there any other Tucson knitters out there??

Down here in Sierra Vista/Fort Huachuca.... with NO LYS!

Just the local Wal-Mart and a small section of knititng stuff at one of the 2 local quilting shops.

No LNS either (local needlework shops, I also cross stitch). I have to go to Tucson (about an hour away) for all my "good" shopping.

Hi all. I used to live in AZ, though now in Cali. I'm here in Mesa, AZ for a few weeks and was just wondering if anyone knew if the Fiber Factory in Mesa has a knit night?
I haven't been getting any knitting done since I am helping my Dad move. I could use a little knit break with a few others.
TIA for any response.

Sorry Aello I don't know much about the Fiber Factory as I don't make it over to Mesa much anymore.....

IBAmyB - We just spent last weekend in Sierra Vista! Birding (DH) -- altho I must say we had a very pleasant day with the kids at Ramsey Canyon -- couldn't believe all the butterflies! I even finished a baby blanket I was working on during the drive :) Wow no LYS...that's a bummer....

Ahh, you haven't found The Squirrel's Nest on Camino Principal, off Highway 92! You should go there. It's primarily a quilting shop but she has sock knitting on Wednesdays, a selection of yarn and knitting supplies - very nice lady, very big shop! I'm not too far from you, well - by rural standards, anyway - I'm about 90 miles from SV - too far to come in for weekly knitting classes I'm afraid, but we do make it to SV about 1 or 2 times a month for Big City errands like Home Depot (and Hastings). Just think, you thought you were in a small town, too!!

I'm about 15 miles south of Portal, 3 miles west of the NM state line, 1 mile from Horseshoe Canyon in the Chiricahuas, off Highway 80. Now I can say with complete certainty that we have no LYS!!

I'm in Bullhead city, AZ. It's about 6 hours or so from Phx.
I think 3 hours from Flag and 1 hour from Kingman or Lake Havasu.

Hi Everyone. I am at I-17 and Peoria, in Phoenix and relatively new to knitting. I have made a few blankets for babies and a couple other small items, but am working myself up slowly. I would love to know where everyone's favorite places to shop for yarn are and what your favorite brands are??? I have problems finding yarns I want to use, but I don't know of which kinds will actually last... I am so glad I found this website!!!

Hi, blu! I don't live there, but my daughter lives in Mesa.
When I'm there, I like to go to the Fiber Factory in downtown Mesa. However, there are a lot of other yarn shops in the Phoenix area. There's one in Tempe that I know of (never been there), also one in Scottsdale.

Also, did you know Phoenix is home of Southwest Trading Co, the people who have Tofutsies Sock Yarn?

This site has helped me teach myself!!! If I have a problem I just look it up on line and the videos are a wonderful help!!! I have watched some of them over and over again. My word of advise is to keep going on your project till you get to the 10 or so row before it really begins to look like something at first. Now they start off looking better with each project. Hang in there!!!!
