So I'v been trying to start the pinwheelbaby blanket for over a month... Each time I pick it up to cast on I can't get past Row 6 or so. After at least 10 attempts I've decided to give up! At least for now... I'm thinking if I get a heavier gauge yarn I might be ok. But with the sport weight Lion Brand babysoft it's just not happenning!!! :hair:

So, would I be able to knit a baby blanket with just 2 skeins of baby soft? I think that would 800+ yds... Maybe I should just try a sweater... :passedout:

Here's a couple threads on baby blanket patterns. Maybe you can find one that might be easier for you to start out with.

 I can sure understand your frustration, should have seen me with my first short row heels on socks. Put it away for a bit and knit something fun...for you. My in person knitting teacher at my LYS was knitting a tiny little baby blanket for her great nephew. It was just big enough to cover him while he slept, not wrap him in. His mother loved having just the right size for that. Have some wine or chocolate.

Have some wine or chocolate.

Why pick? Have both! :teehee:

I sympathize...I've been getting frustrated lately, too. There's a time to keep plodding along, and a time to take a break!

Thanks guys! I think some ice cream is definitely in order! :teehee:

At least I have a hat and mittens already knit up for her, so I will have something to give her at the shower.

I think I may try to tackle this sweater pattern so the yarn doesn't go to waste. Hopefully there's no sneaky errors in there!! http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/babysweragcard2.htm

edited to add: or perhaps knitty's daisy.... hmmm
