View Full Version : Kitchener stich with ribbing

I'm trying to join to pieces of work with the kitchener stich.
It's ribbed 3/1.
How am I supposed to do the purled stich?

I think you can just treat it like a knit stich. Since you're working with the loops on the needles I really don't think stich matters. But that's me :teehee:

Instructions for grafting 1x1 rib are given in Vogue Knitting, if you happen to have it... if not, it looks like the general idea is to separate the knits from the purls. You graft the knits on one side, then turn it over (so your purls will now be knits) and graft the knits on that side. I don't know how well it would work with a wider rib, but it might be something to try.
