So yesterday I was sitting watching yet another Nickoldeon movie with my stepdaughter, it was called Snow Day. Being that it was based outdoors I was please to see so much knitwear I could gawk at! :teehee: What really caught my eye was this earflap hat the main character was wearing. Normally I think earflap hats are pretty dorky looking, especially if I were to wear one. But I loooved this one! So anyone have any suggestions on how I could pull it off? To me, it looks like it's done in a bulky yarn, with perhaps a seed stitch border?

That's what it looks like to me, too. You could use this (http://www.mielkesfarm.com/bsic_hat.htm) site to figure out how many stitches to use. I'd make the earflaps first, then knit one, cast on for the front of the hat, knit the other, cast on for the back of the hat and start the border.
