I am so thrilled! My son let me teach him to knit and in 3 days he made this wonderful scarf for a friend's birthday!

Oh - and I knit a little sweater for him, and a set of 3 scarves that were done on one needle at the same time.

Nice! But, I don't understand your poll. Who's Brian? And if he's your son then why the poll? Anyway, nice work on it all, his scarf is great!

Thanks!!

Jane - he's 18. It makes me feel so good to share this with him before he's off to college next fall!

Your son's scarf is completely awesome - and I think its awesome that an 18 yr old guy will learn to knit. My brother is 17 - he learned to sew when he was 3 (my mom taught us both), but now refuses any association with thread or yarn. None of the other guys I know would ever admit to knowing how to knit, whether they know or not.

I'm curious about these scarves knit 3 on 1. Is it the same basic technique as for knitting two layers? anyways, all of your stuff is gorgeous, good job!

Jess - It is pretty amazing and very wonderful to me that he'd give it a try. We were coming back from a pro-wrestling show (not WWE for those who know!) and he asked if I'd teach him. Of course I said I would, but didn't think he'd follow through. Took a couple of weeks, but he did! The scarves are from a free pattern on Knitpicks called Scarf Parade Trio. It was lots of fun at first, but after a couple of feet, they kept getting so twisted around each other so much, that I was just anxious to finish.
