Ok I was thinking about making something like the Tubey sweater from Knitty.com I like the style of it and was wondering if I could add a simple cable to the sleeves or body of the piece. I have no idea how to do that could I find the center of both and place stitch markers and just work a cable in that piece or would that trow everything off? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks you crazy knitters.

That could for sure work. For Tubey, I'd probably add the cable bit on the sleeves though because the body is worked in rib.

Yay thank you sooo much yea I wanted to just do the sleeves with a cable but I didn't know how it would work. Now I just need to find the perfect yarn lol. So excited!

I'd add a few stitches to the sleeves because cables eat up width. You don't want your sleeves too tight.

The sleeves are pretty loose and floppy though. Depends if you want to keep that or not, and how wide a cable you want.
