I guess as long as the kb load was limited it doesn't look like a problem. Up to Amy though.

It still fits within the framework and layout of the pages.

I used photobucket. they have a tool for making avatar sizes when you upload the pictures. :notworthy:

I just crop and shrink until it's the right size.

Mostly I use MS Paint to make them.

HA i've used both and never seem to get it the right size. some were so tiny you couldn't see them anymore! so as you can see i gave up...

I just resize using Irfanview. Works great for a freebie program. I wouldn't mind larger just so I can see everyones avatars better though.

Thank you all so much. I just want to thank all my friends and family, who have been there to support me all these many months as I made my way through the KH forum. Never did I realize what a rewarding experience it could be to do something really important to change the nature of the world we all live in. Giving people the pixels they need to really truly express themselves is the first step toward world peace and I know, as I accept these accolades, that it is only the beginning for me and my crusade to change the face of cyber space forever.

No, she's a Coton de Tulear. I believe they are in the same family though. Maltese are usually quite a bit smaller.. Foofie is 12 lbs.

Jan, what a cute picture!

How do you change the file size so it's less than 12kb? I know how to resize the image, but I can't seem to figure out the other part. :??

CarmenIbanez

Gifs are usually the best. Alot of programs have an option "save for the web" which will convert it to a gif.

well I have looked all over and can't find one
Where do I get one?

Angelia

Paul, you can use pretty much anything for your avatar--a photo of you, of a pet, a pic from the net, a saying from a t-shirt or bumpersticker--the options are almost endless! The only tricky bit is resizing it, but even that's not hard (and one of us can always help you if you run into trouble).

googling images are always good too!
