View Full Version : My Tychus could fit a polar bear!

:waah: The Tychus hat I was working on turned out huge--anyone ever made this? I used 100% acrylic, so I can't even felt it. I'm thinking of painstakingly undoing the seaming and taking out one whole section. It would probably be just the right size then. I don't know what happened. My gauge was on for # of stitches, not rows. Maybe I should've went with smaller needles? The pattern called for size 9 needles, I used size 8 to make the hat tighter, but I'm thinking I should've even went to a 7, does that make sense? I love the colors and how it looks, but it's so big!!! I'm in a knitting slump right now and don't even want to deal with it I'm so upset.

I (and someone else on here, but I can't remember who, I'm sorry) did one less repeat than the directions called for and the fit was then okay.
