I like Eiffel too! And Sheldon and Norberta. Argosy is very pretty.

And zomg the napkin rings! I wonder if it's hard working with the wire?

I like Monkey, Calorimetry, and Antifreeze (although I don't ski, snowboard, or snowmobile, I just think it's cute!!).

Starsky Jr is cute too!

And Binary is kinda ugly but it makes me laugh. :roflhard:

The only thing that really stood out for me was Norberta. I HAVE to make one once the holidays are over.

Well, I have to say I'm a little dissapointed. Didn't they just do an issue full of hats and mittens and socks??? There are a LOT of those type patterns in here. I do  the turtle though!!

Andrea
12-08-2006, 01:26 PM
You definitely need to knit the turtle, Hild! :cheering:

I'm quite happy with this issue! I immediately printed out the Twinkletoes pattern, I've got slippers that are similar that someone bought me several years ago and I've always wanted to learn how to make them! I might make a couple pairs for Chrismtas gifts if I can knit fast enough!

I also love the turtle and dragon, my son would LOVE those.

I also like the calorimetry headband and the argosy scarf.

The eiffel sweater is beautiful, but I'm not sure I want to attempt another sweater anytime soon!

And the book of knitty is neat, but I would never knit it.

Overall, I'm happy, good issue! :cheering:

Oh I LOVE Sheldon!! I want to knit him and let him sleep on my bed. I bet he won't steal the covers like my husband does! :D

I also love the Emerald Sweater and Twinkle toes! GAHHHH!!! Where to start! Thank goodness we have a few months before the spring editions arrives!!

I am seriously considering knitting Binary! It's the only one that tempts me, though.

I really wasn't that impressed with this issue although I do like Rolling Thunder and Twinkle Toe was cute. Also I kind of liked Starsky jr.

I am dissappointed also. Only the one hat is really original?

I'm not too impressed with the issue either--I wanted more sweaters and wraps and things. The turtle is adorable, and I like the Rolling Thunder and Monkey socks. That's about it, though, and I'm not even sure they fall in the "HAVE to knit" category. They're just cute.

I love the fact that "Brown Bag" was designed by a junior in high school. Clever girl!!

I, too, would have liked to have seen more sweaters and wraps. But for "last minute gifts", i guess they did an ok job. I'm just not ecstatic about socks or hats very much.

Binary is the only one I really like, too. But I think it would be too boring and time consuming to knit a scarf like that. So the back doesn't show, you have to knit twice the width to make a circle, like making two scarves. Two 6 foot fair isle scarves is too much for me. I like the look, though. If I were in love with a computer geek, I would totally knit that for him.

Definitely won't be making anything else, though I do find this issue kinda pretty to look at.

Never knitted with hemp so checked out this site .
Pretty colors.

I am completely in love with Sheldon and Norberta.   Unfortunately, making them will have to wait until "Christmas knitting" is finished. (That probably means waiting until, oh, April. My friends and family are patient.)
