View Full Version : machine washable handspun

I recently learned how to spin and like to give my yarn and knitted items to loved ones, but don't want them to have to hand wash the items! How do I make my handspun yarn machine washable, at least, and maybe even machine dryable? :?? :??

You can buy superwash merino roving :D
I got mine here: http://www.wool2dye4.com/roving.html

I've never spun my own stuff, but my guess is that if you could find some way to launder it (without making a total mess!) before you knit, that might work. Sort of a "pre-shrinking"? Of course, if it's wool, it will probably felt together, so maybe I have no idea what I'm talkiing about!!
