View Full Version : Needed: 16" US Sizes 6, 7, and 8 Circulars

Help! I can't find these anywhere! I have a local Joann's, but the only 16" circulars they sell are sizes 9 and up! Why?! :wall:
I knit lots of soakers, and my gauge is always a little off because I'm knitting them all on size 9's...and I have to knit super tight just to get even close to gauge. And knitting super tight on purpose is not pleasant! :crying:
So does anyone have any 16" US sizes 6, 7, or 8 circular needles they would be willing to sell? I prefer bamboo, but will use aluminum if need be.
Thanks in advance! :)

Here's a couple places you can find bamboo circulars in the sizes you need.
Jo-Ann - Clover Bamboo (http://joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=82325&PRODID=11859)
Herrschners - Clover Bamboo (http://herrschners.com/products/sku-014500__id-3481__tab-.html)

I probably should have been more specific. I'm looking for used needles. I'm poor, and the husband won't let me buy anymore knitting stuff out of our joint account. Wonder why. :teehee:
eBay is usually my first choice, but I couldn't find anything sold in singles. I don't want 15 sets of 16" circulars, ya know? Darn eBay. :pout:

I can totally relate ! I bought almost all of my circulars AND dpns on Etsy.com.......I found two different people selling off mixed lots and wound up with 24 circulars and probably 12 sets of dpns.........all with an investment of $15.00 total, shipping included.
I'm afraid I've wiped Etsy out of used needles right now, but here's a link to their commercial supplies section. http://www.etsy.com/category_sub_sub.php?tags=supplies.commercial.yarn
It's a site for all things handmade, but they do have a section for supplies and one for vintage.
I know that doesn't help you, but I'm just saying that Etsy and Ebay, and these knitting forums ARE your best bet right now, since you've stated that you want USED ones. Unfortunately, it's usually relatives of past knitters that have the used ones to sell, so you need to put the word out to everybody you know, and haunt garage sale and estate sales this Spring !
Maybe now that people are using the Magic Loop method for things, they'll get rid of their shorter circulars..........I'd like a few more too ! Greedy, aren't I ! ? !:teehee:
Good Luck..........if you find yourself beseiged with more needles than you can use, give me a personal heads up notice, please !

Thanks Dotty! I'll keep checking on ebay and etsy! And here, also. :)
BTW, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sock in your icon! It's adorable!! Those are exactly the type of socks I want to knit for myself: colourful and exciting! Very nice! :cheering:

Thank you ! ! ! :muah:
That's Etsy, again...........I bought this booklet
before ever knitting my first pair of socks, just so that I could choose from any yarn I had or came across........I'm a bargain hunter !
