Clint, you are getting lots of kuddos for posting and I'd like to add mine to them. Thanks so much and congrats on your new son.
Christy!!! WAY TO GO. Congratulations on that beautiful boy. He's a big one! Love his hat, did you knit that for him? Rest lots and come here when you can. Gentle hugs for all of you.
01-22-2007, 01:26 PM
Oh my, he's beautiful!!!! Congratulations, and enjoy your babymoon!
01-22-2007, 02:53 PM
Hey you guys! Thanks for all of the well wishes and my dh says to tell all of you that he doesn't deserve the credit b/c I asked him to do it!
Yes, I knitted the hat although it hardly fits! I need to knit a few more and make them a little larger! I had him wear the hat the when I first held him and then he wore it home since it was a little chilly!
I'm feeling allright--sore (which is to be expected) but happy. The c-section wasn't bad--a little disappointing since I had labored all day but in the end I think it was the best decision. I showed up having contractions at 3 min. apart (and they felt just like what I was describing the other day) but they weren't consistent enough so they went ahead w/ the pitocin. I managed to make it w/ no medication through the contractions until about 5:30 pm (we got started at 5 am). Two hours later I was gald I had gotten the epidural (even though it was just as horrible of an experience as the first one I had--but then I have a very VERY serious needle issue--I know lots of people think they aren't a big deal) b/c they checked me and I still hadn't even made it to 5 cm. They were concerned about how slow I was progressing but they were more concerned that he wasn't dropping down and thought that maybe he was too large to come through the pelvis. Either way--we decided to go ahead w/ the c-section. DH was absolutely wonderful--I was okay w/ the c-section but he started to cry--he was so afraid something would happen to me! He's a very emotional guy to begin with but it felt really nice to hear someone say that I was needed! I love my dh!
Anyway--by little guy is awesome. Bilirubin was a little high but not too bad. He isn't really sleeping much at night but we've just gotten home and are starting to get into a routine. We are just sleeping when he does for now.
Thank you all for all of your sweet responses--I'll make sure to post more pictures later!
01-22-2007, 03:06 PM
We're glad to hear you're doing good and so is baby Aaron. Be sure to rest and not overdo it...c-sections are recovering from childbirth and a major surgery.
01-22-2007, 03:21 PM
Congrats hun! Take it easy on yourself. I labored for 22 hours (pushed for 2) and then ended up with an emergency c-section since it was determinded I never dilated on the right side. I felt like I had had 2 babies. Get some rest and enjoy the little one!
Congratulations to you and dh, this baby is just adorable! :muah:  :cheering:
01-22-2007, 04:02 PM

Congratulations Christy! :cheering:
01-22-2007, 08:14 PM
What a beautiful baby boy.
Remember to take care of yourself and to not do too much too soon. You are doing right by sleeping when he sleeps.
Enjoy him, you will blink, and before you know it you'll be handing him the car keys. :teehee: That's what happened with 'my' Aaron (he's 23 now).
What a great DH you have.
Thanks for the pictures, can't wait to see more.
01-22-2007, 08:54 PM
I was induced and ended up having a C-section, too. I found that walking as much as I could each day sped the healing up--hope you're feeling well! That is one big, beautiful boy!
01-22-2007, 09:02 PM
Soooooo sweet! Congratulations! And it was nice of your husband to post here...but are you sure he didn't spell the name wrong? Isn't it Aran? Just kidding. Hope you're recovering well and that you get to sleep when he's sleeping on ocassion! Have so much fun staring at him for hours!
01-22-2007, 10:18 PM
Congratulations to you and your Hubby! What beautful pictures...he was a whopper, for sure! Just take it easy and get lots of rest...even when you begin to feel alot better...you've been thru alot! Hopefully, Aaron will start sleeping a little more so you can find a minute to knit...LOL!
God Bless You All,
01-22-2007, 10:24 PM
b/c I asked him to do it!
:eyebrow: and I'm so sure you had to twist his arm, work work work... :teehee:
Congratulations to you all, and welcome little Aaron!!! I bet big sister has a lot to boast about huh?
Peaceful dreams to you all while you adapt to the new lifestyle!
01-22-2007, 10:52 PM

WE MISS YOU CRISTY!
What a sweet baby! I read your posts the day you were having possible labor pains, but didn't reply because I know nothing about having them and didn't wish to offer meaningless clutter to your thread. I'm glad to hear that all is well.
01-26-2007, 12:20 PM
I really think you have something special.
You hubby is amazing to post on here.
I do not think you can train him to do that, I believe that is just in him to be proud, supportive ,and truely inlove with all and every part of his lovely wife.
So I am wishing you the very best to you and your family.

Goodness, I missed this too! I saw it out the corner of my eye and was like "who's cristy, i don't know no cristy" and then I read the Valentine's Knitting post and I see the little meter under the familiar picture and someone says you just gave your husband a son and, wow. You had your baby! :cheering: :happydance:  :woohoo:
