I have a question regarding the Farmer's Market Tote (http://www.knitpicks.com/Projects/itemid_50402221/projects_display).

if you look st picking up stitches for the extra large bag, why does it say to pick up 40 stitches on the left side if only 30 rows were knit? is this a mistake?

To me it does appear to be a mistake since all the other sizes say to pick up the same number of rows that has been knit. I would go with picking up 30 stitches.

thanks. so the next question is how do i pick up 40 stitches on my selvage edge? i looked at the video on this site, but it's in st stitch and i'm in garter, so the "hole" between selvage stitches isnt the same.
