I made these for Christmas but have only just got around to posting them here - my first attempts at fair isle! The pirate hat was so much fun to make but turned out much smaller than I'd hoped (er.. swatch? me?) but at least it made a 6-year old girl very happy :) All inspired by fair isle, I made the little hat below for a friend's baby.

Typically, I didn't write down how I made the hat :wall: - but I'll try and figure it out over the weekend and let you know, if I can work it out! BTW, the motif is taken from a book, does anyone know if would breach copyright to use the motif in my pattern? Maybe I should just give the instructions for the basic shape of the hat.

ok, you inspired me. I remembered yesterday that I had black and purple Cashsoft in my stash. I'm 7 rows into the hat now.
