hmm... I think I can make it. It sounds like lots of fun. When you see the Most users logged on at one time: 100+ we can say "yeah, I was one of those 100+ people" :happydance:

I don't know...the site drags like crazy lately with less than that on it...I think that we are always testing the server's patience! :teehee:

I will try. We'll be getting ready to go out of town. My daughter is having surgery on her knee -- possibly to reconstruct a torn ACL. But, I'll try to sneak on the computer -- call it my break from packing. :teehee:

Sorry, I'll be at work then and Mondays are our busiest days. Not to mention we can't do sites where you log in, unless they're company sites.

Yeah - anyone know of a good site that does time zone conversions?

Would that be 7 o'clock in the evening USA time?

five_six
02-02-2007, 06:23 AM
Niffer, just set your forum clock to US time if you want, that way when you log in in your time zone, you can see where the US time zone is at. If you do that the day before, you'll be able to calculate... if i get the chance I'll be logging on on Tuesday to meet you guys

Knitting_Guy

If it's 8 PM I can do it. If it's AM I'll be unloading in Tampa about then.

niffer
02-02-2007, 08:59 AM
Is it 8 or 7?

Sorry to be dumb - but having only one time zone in the UK I've never seen 8/7c written before.

Basically those are the same time. It would be 8pm in the eastern US and 7pm in the central US.

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

OK - I'm gonna watch the stock exchange news just to see all the different clocks in the back I think!!!

I just went to change my time zone in the Profile - and the Options I get are all GMT + or - 1-12 hours - and thats what I don't know!!!!!!

Can someone tell me the time that they reply too this and which USA time zone they are in?
Then I can work it out from the time of the post?

:wall: I feel dumb!

:teehee:

suzeeq
02-04-2007, 10:47 AM
If you're in the UK, you're probably on GMT anyway - possibly -1, but I think that's for Ireland.

I'm in the US Mtn Time zone which is GMT -7hrs.

That's what I was thinking. I would hate to see the server crash. Remember the panic that ensued the last time the server went down. That being said I'll try to be here.

i'm not much on server knowledge, but perhaps if we stagger our visits -- like, the west coast logs on maybe 10 minutes prior to the next group, and so on? that way we aren't all accessing a page at the same time... not sure if that makes a difference.

then again, this seems like a lot of work to force a broken record! :teehee:

madametj

sorry for the confusion. The time is 8 eastern time (USA) and 7 central time (USA, same time).

If you're from a different country and wanna get in on the action, you can use this (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html) time converter. Just put in February 5, 2007 20/8pm. Next, select New York, New York as the first location (this is where it will be 8 o'clock) and for the second location select a city that has the same time zone are yours. you can also use the "other locations" button if you u can't seem to find a city in your time zone.

records are meant to be broken. why else would we have them in the first place? :teehee:

I think the old forum underestimated the traffic for some reason. It always seemed like the forums were more active than the forum stats indicated. Most of the time the stats showed 40 - 50 users online at one time. 200 - 400 seems more accurate.

And what's with all those lurking guests!!! Almost a 2 - 1 ratio of active guests to active members. Hopefully they'll create accounts and join in the fun. I mean, I am not doing all this work so people can just lurk!
