Good Morning! My DH's daughter is getting married in April.. her gown (so so beautiful) is an off the shoulder. I would like to knit a shawl for her to wear from the church to the hall and so on. Any ideas?- nothing too complicated lol. I only have until April. :noway:  Thank you!

I guess part of this depends on what you consider too complicated. This is too much for me, but here is an idea.

Beautiful. But I do not think it will work with the style of dress. It is an off the shoulder type gown ... not strappless... but kind of drapes right below the shoulder. (clear as mud right? lol) I do not have a picture..

I finished two Ruffles and Ridges from Fiber Trends. I made one in less than a week. Made with DK weight and size 9 needle. http://www.fibertrends.com/viewer/V5_accessories.html

I don't know if that link will take you right to the Ruffles and Ridges.

Also Knitting Pure and Simple has an Easy Lacy Poncho also made with DK weight

There is a pic of one I made in my blog located in my siggie.

There is a new book out called wedding knits (http://www.amazon.com/Wedding-Knits-Handmade-Gifts-Member/dp/0307346404/sr=8-1/qid=1170789772/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-3507151-2385412?ie=UTF8&s=books) . Maybe you can check that out of the library and see if there's anything you like.

That is gorgeous! and a possible future project... I keep going back to look at it! lol. But I only have evenings to work on this and feel that I should keep it simple. :cheering: Thank you though! anne

what about Lily Chin's Reversible Rib Shawl from Vogue Knitting: American Collection (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1573890200/ref%3Dase%5Fknittymagazin-20/102-5940969-5518507)? I know it's cheating, but if you "look inside this book" the pattern is one of the few you can get to...

here (http://nimrodel70.blogspot.com/2005/03/shawl-is-finished.html) is a pic of someone's finished shawl.

Wow! I think I need to make a trip to Borders. That is beautiful.. do they usually give the written instructions as well as the chart? The print is so small I can not read it very well lol.

there are written instructions, but it's mostly just to tell you how to use the chart...

I just finished this Lace Shawl from Knit Picks and it's lovely. I did it in Lagoon Heather, but it would be just gorgeous in white, although in the yarn on the site there is only a Cream Color. This yarn is 100% Baby Alpaca so I'm sure you can find it in white somewhere else.

Just scroll down and you can download the free pattern.

This was my first attempt at a Lace Pattern and it's very easy and knits up pretty quick.

Hope you like it.
