View Full Version : Rona Shawl FO, Hild sweater WIP

I finally finished binding off the over 1000 stitches in the Rona shawl from Knitpicks... wow. Binding off took two days of work. I'm now getting back to my Hild sweater from Elsebeth Lavold's second book of viking knits- I think I'm getting the hang of cables! It's nice to be working on something much less intricate for the moment while I try to make up my mind what my next lacework pattern will be.
I haven't blocked the shawl yet- that's a project for later today or tomorrow!
Rona is using KP Shadow in Lost Lake, Hild is Berocco Ultra Alpaca, don't remember the color.

 I'm just severly ADD and stubborn... I didn't think it was anything spectacular... but I guess it is gorgeous :) I've made more progress on the sweater this morning, and I love the Berocco Ultra Alpaca-- it is sooo soft. It's for mom, so any leftover yarn I can use for me maybe...

I just purchased 2000 yards of 100% wool lace yarn on ebay. Can you please tell me how many yards your shawl required? I bought this yarn planning to make a shawl in the future, but I don't have a pattern yet. It was such a great price ($11.50).

It took just a bit less than 3 skeins of KP shadow... which is 440 yards... that comes to 1320 yards, so you should have plenty.

HOLY CRAP THOSE ARE AWESOME!!!

That shawl is INCREDIBLE!!! :eyes:
You are one very talented lady!!!!
The cabling in the sweater is quite nice as well!!!

Y'all are so sweet :) I don't really see myself as talented... I just read the pattern. Anyone who can design their own and make money off it is talented...
I'm also willing to help anyone as stubborn as me :) I've been getting people at work to try more adventurous projects. It's so much fun!

2 days of binding off! Wow. Well, persistence sure does pay off. It's beautiful. I've yet to do a real lace project.
