I was thinking how neat it would be to have an afghan that was made by people in the KH forum.

My idea is that whoever wants to join would knit a square, or two, to send to a forum friend, and then the friend would send one that they made to the other person. Basically a trading of squares. Then each of us would be able to join together the squares and have our very own forum afghan.

I figure the squares could be 9 in. X 9 in. in a washable yarn. The squares could be simple garter stitch or whatever the knitter wants. Perhaps a square that represents the knitter in color or pattern.

I'm open for ideas, let me know what you think.

I can't wait! i am going to start my squares tonight, if we are going with the 9x9 idea that is!!!

I think 9 X 9 would be a good size. That way if there are a lot of people we can each make a BIG blanket or if there are not as many we each won't have to make too many blocks to make up the difference.

Not to rain on the parade, but wouldn't everyone just end up with one square??

It would depend on how many people participate.

Each person would make squares and send them to whoever they want to trade squares with and would receive squares from each of those people.

Say you make 10 squares and send them to 10 people, those 10 people would each make a square and send it to you.

This sounds pretty neat. I think I'd like to give it a go! I'm not the fastest knitter around, though.

Thanks Stine!!

Do you still have my address? If not I'll PM it to you.

I know I'm going to enjoy the blanket when I get the squares and put them together. When I use it, it will be like getting a hug from all my friends.

Geez, I'm not ususally the mushy type, I don't know what's up with that.

Stine - I have your address. Thanks

:cheering: :happydance: :happydance: :cheering:

Carmen - PM me your address and I'll send you mine. Do this with anyone else that you would like to get a 9 X 9 square from and send one you make to them. Then we will each have squares from different forum members to put together and make a blanket (or whatever). When we finish we will all have our own KH forum friends blanket.

I bought some Caron Simply Soft to make squares out of.

If any of you would prefer your squares be made of something else just let me know.
