View Full Version : M1 increases

I've been wanting to make socks from the toe up, so I went to KPC for patterns. One of them looks pretty easy to follow, but I have a question about M1 increases. I thought there was only one way to do a make 1, but this pattern calls for a M1L and a M1R. I know that L and R means left and right, but what I don't know is how to M1, and control which way it will slant.

Can someone please help me?

Hey, I just started toe-up socks for the first time last night! The increase page here (http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/basic_techniques/increase.php) is great for explaining all the L/R stuff. :)

Thank you so much. I've watched the videos so much, I don't know how I missed this section. :teehee:
