Ok, so I have a pattern that requires the following yarn (Berroco Air)

FIBER: 78% Wool, 22% Nylon
BALL WEIGHT : 1.75 oz / 50 g
BALL LENGTH: 115 yds / 106 m
GAUGE: 3.25 sts = 1"/ 13 sts & 19 rows = 4" (10cm)
NEEDLE SIZE : 11 (US) / 8 mm
CARE: Hand wash in lukewarm water. Lay flat to dry.

Now, I've found this other yarn, that is pretty cheap, and I'm hoping I could maybe use it....

Content: 100% Peruvian Highland Wool
Amount: 110 yards/50 gram ball
Gauge: 4.5-5 sts=1" on #6-9 needles

Are they similar enough, or would this be a no go?
Also, has anyone used this yarn before? Is it any good?

Wool of the Andes is pretty scratchy, and it pills a lot. It's a great wool for felting and things that you're not going to wear right next to your skin.

I usually use US8 needles when I knit with it, and you'll note that the suggested needle size for the Air is US11...WOTA bulky might be a better substitution gauge-wise, but it's also a lot heavier. (e.g. 137 yards per 100g, whereas the Air is 230 yards per 100g).

Hmmmm.... I don't like the sounds of scratchy... Would this one be better?

Oh, I had a look at WEBS at their Berroco Air.. and that's a great price! However, if I could find something through KnitPicks that would work for my pattern, I'd rather do that, as the shipping is half of what it would be from WEBS (I'm in Canada.. and it sounds like through KnitPicks I don't have to worry about paying any kind of duty, which is nice).. And, well, I'm a student....
