Perhaps you could just convert a hat pattern? Just, don't do the decreases

Here's one hat pattern, but I'm sure there're more.

awwwwesome! I actually found this (http://spincraftpatterns.com/article_info.php?articles_id=6) too. I am just trying to decide if there is any real reason why i would have to knit an inch of ribbing first.... i don't think i would HAVE too...

I don't think you'd have to either....

edit: Oh, it's for a hat, that's why the ribbing.

yeah i know... i am only fretting about the idea of it because the danica scarf that i am working on has a really tight cast on row, even though i almost always cast on with double needles :verysad: will have to think on it....

For an entrelac anything it's more the type of cast on... backwards loop was recommended for Lady Eleanor, and a knitted caston is looser than longtail. Actually, I figured out a trick - I cast on one extra stitch, but didn't use it in the first row of triangles (skipped it on the right edge, I think) and that helped a lot to keep the corners from pulling in.
