You could make 5 booga bags.

I said that to make you laugh, but I really don't have any other ideas. There are so many creative people on this forum I am sure someone will come up with a clever solution.

I think it would be too itchy to wear against your skin. I just made an entrelac throw with Silk Garden--it used 19, but it's pretty big.

I saw The Argosy Wrap (http://inahappycamper.eponym.com/Argosy%20Wrap.pdf) done by one of the Mason Dixon gals by Vyvyan Neel. It calls for Kureyon but the MD gal did it in Silk Garden...
a suggestion..
I'd like to do some of the stuff on this one..the striping makes it look really complicate but it sounds pretty doable :happydance:

I'm actually in the same boat. I got 10 skeins of Noro Kueryon on e-bay for $50.00 :cheering: and I just can't decided what to do with it. Right now it's a toss up between a felted bag BIG and clogs.

I've got TEN skeins also of the Noro Kureyon and I plan to make a sweater as I always were a T-shirt under my sweaters anyway. I was SO surprised at how ROUGH it was. If there is enough left, I plan to make my first felted bag.

I would love to make a sweater but the 10 skeins just don't look like enough to make a sweater with (to me)

Well each skein has 109 yds in it. I would think that would be plenty.

careful tho - Kureyon doesn't shrink very much, and I'm afraid if you use it by itself, you'll send up with clogs that just won't shrink to fit no matter how many times you put them in the washer. I recommend using 1 strand of Kureyon alongside 1 strand of 220 or WOTA or other wool that we know will shrink.

as for the pattern, it's not free, but it's only about $5 at your LYS or at a LOT of online stores.

good luck

Jodi,
Isn't it the yarn that the Booga bag is made of????? Hmmmmm I sure don't want to WASTE this yarn.

I have made 2 booga bags, both with kureyon, and they felted very nicely. I had to put it through the hothothot cycle several times, but the kureon worked well.

good to know! i will have to make sure the wash is very hot...Thanks knitters!

ginny, i am with you, i think i would need atleast 1300 yds for a sweater  so clogs and a booga will doo nicely. i think i might even add an outdoor sole so i can wear them out and show them off :happydance:

yes, the Booga is made with Kureyon but the Booga doesn't require a major reduction in size. the clogs require it.

the Kureyon does shrink - a little. it gets REALLY soft and fuzzy, but sizewise it doesn't reduce much.

So the solution here is MAKE THE BOOGA BAG FIRST and decide from there!!!!

I think you should check out all the Noro pattern books!
http://www.yarnmarket.com/knitting/Noro-450.html

Also, this vendor has some recommended patterns for Kureyon at the bottom of this page:
http://www.onefineyarn.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=NORO_KUREYON

Here's a pattern for a hat made with one skein of Kureyon:
http://floryknits.com/fp-norohat.html

And here's another boatload of Kureyon designs!

I know Noro is not skin friendly but I was at the yarn shop the other day and a lady came in wearing a button down the front sweater made from Noro, it was beautiful,
She had a thin long sleeved white top on under it, and the striping on the body of the sweater looked great, this was a knit from the top down pattern.
After talking to her, I didn't even notice the sleeve stripes didn't match the body, they were both the same but a wider strip, it looked real cool.
Needless to say I bought some Noro and will be making either the sweater or vest.
With the button down or a vest you will always wear something under it.
That yarn is amazing how it knits up.
