Yay! my Knitpicks order came in today. Right on time too! Exactly 5 business days after I ordered. I got all excited when I saw the guy pull up in the giant mail truck.

This is the last of my birthday presents from my wonderful FH, and perfect timing, since my birthday is tomorrow!

I ordered 7 skeins of knit picks shine sport (http://www.knitpicks.com/Shine+Sport_YD5420122.html) in "river" and an options 47" cable. After knitting Tubey, I realized as a big girl, with some rather buxom assets, I will need a longer cable if I want to knit in the round and still try the item on. Whenever I tried on my tubey mid knit, I had to pull off half the stitches and keep the stitches split on to 2 36 inch cables, just so I didn't rip or pull anything. What a hassle!

The yarn is sublime!! I have never worked with cotton yarn before, but have felt it and they have never felt this amazing. Even cotton blends I've felt have always seemed stiff and harsh.. But the cotton and modal together, make for a wonderful yarn. Feels silky as I knit and the fabric it knits up is sooo soft... I don't know if I can go back to acrylic after this.

anywho... time for some porn!

That's so pretty! I also got a package from KnitPicks today. It was waiting for me when I got home and put a huge smile on my face. I'll have to post pictures tomorrow. It's reward yarn for me for finishing the knitting on my tanktop. I won't say what else I got but I also got 7 balls of shine sport to make another tanktop. It's a great yarn, the finished product is very soft with it. I do recommend using no larger than size 6 needles with it if you want a dense fabric.

ha! that's great. I'm also making a tank top with it. I'm about 70% through the first triangle on Zaftig (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer04/PATTzaftig.html). Which is great since I have been knitting since 2pm today and stopped to make dinner and chat and stuff. I will be using the bottom half of Lelah (http://knittingforboozehags.com/freebirds/lelah-top) to finish the top, since I'm not much for belly baring.

Me thinks I may need some more yarn, since lelah calls for worsted weight, so it may not go as far as I am hoping... but oh well! Always can use another reason to buy yarn! haha.

I am using size 4 needles, and the fabric is loose but dense, which is what I was hoping for.

That will be so pretty. I only used a little over 5 balls of shine sport for my tanktop. You can see pictures of it on my blog for an idea of how big it is. If you want scale, I'm 5'9" and I made the size 38 bust one. I actually thought I was going to run out of yarn as well because I was not getting row guage on my project but it took a small part of the 6 balls just like the pattern stated.

MMM...yarn porn! I've been keeping an eye on that Shine Worsted since I started looking at Knit Picks, especially since I'm a new fan of cotton. Nice to know it knits up well, I might have to buy some soon. :teehee:

I promised pics of my haul from KnitPicks and here it is!

The burgundy gloss is for a sweater-Thermal!

The orange essential is for socks for my boyfriend-his choice of color.

The blue shine sport is for another tanktop for me!
