I made this for a friend. I promised her a scarf... weeks ago. Finished it yesterday. I'm so bad.

Is that a potato chip scarf? I've made a couple, but not in yarn as nice as that. Very pretty!

That looks like the scarf from Creative Knitting. Either way, it looks great! I love the color.

The pattern did refer to it as a potato chip scarf. Since I don't know what that means, I've stuck with calling it a 'curly scarf.' I show my ignorance in various ways!

The pattern was one of the free ones at Lion Brand and I used Homespun Red Brick Somethingorother for the bulk of it with the very end in Moonlight Mohair (which was scary to knit with for a novice!).

I'll try and get either my dog or husband to model it for another pic today. That'll be a hoot.

very cool!! It's called the potato chip scarf because you can't make just one!!!

For those of you interested, the pattern is really easy: the scarf is knit lengthwise, so you CO the number of stitches for as long as you want the scarf to be, and you knit a row, then increase once in each stitch, knit a row, increase in every stitch... so basically every other row you're doubling the number of stitches (it works in both garter and stockinette).... soooo if you CO 300 stitches, by the 6th row you'll have 1200 stitches  The more rows you add the curlier it will be... and the longer circular needles you'll need to use to hold that many stitches!
