Yes, I have lived here about 16 years, moved here when I got married (which will actually be 16 years tomorrow!) Great place to live for the weather, but the cost of living is another thing!

I need to get out and check out several of the LYS here, but with kids and busy schedules it just hasn't happened yet. The closest LYS is only about 10 minutes from me, but they aren't the best in selection or personality. They had some of the Malabrigo, but it only a couple of skeins, not anything I would purchase...so glad I saw the sale! Maybe I should plan some "field trips" to the LYS around here for me once we get school all wrapped up for the year! :teehee:

Honestly, I feel a little sick if I realize that I don't have any yarn on its way to me. I was panicking yesterday then I remembered I ordered from the store in this thread on Sunday. Whew! What a sigh of relief!

Of course, I had to go browsing around Etsy last night, and spied some yummy sock yarn that may have ended up in my cart :teehee:

Ok, I think I might get some.... wondering, did anyone make the Einstein coat and would this be suitable? I think it'd be nicer than Lopi. I wanted to do that coat in Mano del Uruguay but this would be my second choice. Or is it too lightweight?

And... what are you going to make with it (you'all who bought some already!)

GinnyG
05-03-2007, 10:39 AM

I ordered mine last week but have not heard from them about shipping. I am in no hurry (it's just going to my stash) BUT, should I have received a shipping confirmation?

meearnol

I GOT MY ORDER!!!!!!!!

I don't have a good camera, or I would post my yarn for you to drool over, but suffice it to say, I am a believer in the wonder that is Malabrigo from now until the end of time. I want to bathe in this stuff!

GinnyG
05-03-2007, 05:05 PM
I sent them an email because I had not received a confirmation or notice of shipment. They very quickly responded. Apparently my order somehow got "lost" despite the fact that they did receive my Paypal payment :-( :-(

But the good news is that to make "amends" they sent me a coupon for 20% off. I rushed to the site and unfortunately my first choice was no longer available but there was enough of one color to order for a sweater so I got 10 skeins of one color and 3 OTHER skeins (different colors) for the same price my previous order would have been. So I guess it was worth not getting my original color choice.

This is my first Malibrigo so I'm quite excited to get it.

Wow! I sent them an email a few minutes after my last post, and I already got a supply. How about that for customer service. :)

But, that's the good news. The bad is that even though their inventory lists in stock the color I ordered, they can't find it. So, I can either cancel my order or they'll keep looking. I figure I'll wait awhile. I already have ten million other WIPs (<-only a slight hyperbole.)

If you have not received confirmation of your order be sure to EMAIL THEM. ESPECIALLY if you paid via paypal. According to their customer service department they had some software problems last week with paypal orders, the payments were received but the orders were not. Because they received so many orders they are not picking all the lost orders up right away. My order was one that got "lost", they were very respnsive and even gave me a 20% off coupon to make up for losing my order.

I never did get my order, first they couldn't find it all, then said I could BO, then took me weeks to get a response. Then they offered to cancel my order and all I got was an apology (ok, I did get my refund), no offer to come back with a percent off, nor did she offer to me something different, or anything of what some of you mentioned. I was very frustrated, sounds like you all had a great experience, but I doubt I will risk ordering from them in the future. Guess I will have to by malabrigo another day.
