I recently went on a trip and of course I bought yarn :teehee: I got two balls of Rowans kidsilk haze in two diffrent colours and a ball worsted weigth green wool.
So I wondered if any of you lovely people had any ideas what to make with my new purdy yarns. I was thinking about making fingreless gloves maybe with the kidsilk but I can't seem to find a good pattern.

That is some lovely stuffs.
 I don't know what to make of it.. but I'd pet it some and ask it what it wants to be.

Those yarns are beautiful. Good luck finding something you want to use them for.

The Branching Out (http://www.knitty.com/issuespring05/PATTbranchingout.html) scarf would be a good thing to make with the pink silk. The pattern has a picture of a completed scarf using a different brand of pink silk.

But, I do have a questions........... Could someone explain to me the POINT of fingerless gloves???? Am I missing something (I'm old and out of date  ). WHY would you want gloves without fingers????

I love them. you don't have the slippiness of gloves on your fingers- my hands stay warm but I can still put the car key in the ignition. (or take pictures of the kids in the snow, find things in my purse, give the coffee shop the right change: all without stopping to take the gloves off, drop one, lose the other or stop to put them back on.) When it isn't winter, and my bones ache, I use them when typing or knitting to give the wrists some warmth without losing dexterity.
and fingers are a pain to knit.....
and these are a fashion statement.
just my little reasons why...

They look cool!! I mean, if Sanjaya will wear them when competing to be the American Idol, how can they NOT be cool???

Cool is a state of mind not dependent on a number.
Hence my Shakira "Hips Don't Lie" ringtone. Gets the laughs every time (especially when it goes off in a class at my school). :teehee:
Now to be wearing fingerless gloves and shaking my thing when the ringtone goes off. Ahhhh, sublime happiness if dd was around to see. :roflhard:

Well I'm not old, and I agree about the cool factor, I love the look of fingerless gloves, but I've never made any, cause I always figured it wasn't my palms that would get frostbite and fall off, it would be my poor little freezing fingies
I use my fingerless gloves when I'm on the computer and my hands get cold...means I can still type ok ;)
