I bought two 50 gram skeins of Flash mercerized cotton in the colorway sweetpea last weekend, and I want to use them for socks. I'm looking for a pattern for cotton knee socks, can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance!

I would say just take a normal sock pattern and lengthen the top considerably depending on how high you want the socks to go up your leg. Make it a bit wider at the top perhaps and definetely ribbed. However, I would wonder more if only 2 skeins would be enough for the knee-socks...

I wonder if stretching is going to be a problem, since cotton doesn't spring back like wool. A cotton blend might be better than 100% cotton. Just a suggestion, since I've never made cotton socks.

You both make good points, I was worrying about the lack of stretchiness myself. And there probably won't be enough yarn for the knee socks. Bummer. What am I going to do with my cute cotton now? Hm... I'll have to find something else, I guess. Thanks anyway, guys!

Dishcloths or washcloths?

You can always doublestrand with some knitting elastic around the cuff and the first few inches below the knee....
