http://www.gallentine.org/Knitting/CranberryLapRobe.html I am doing this pattern and I get to row 3.. ok. So, at the end of that row it says "k2" meaning that when you get to that point you should only have two stitches on the needle! right? well i get to this point and i 3Sts. Now, I made sure that i had the correct amount of sts when i casted on and then i went back when i came to this problem and checked and rechecked my work... i'm so stumped I just dont know what i did wrong! please can someone help me! Thanx!! :wall: :!!!: :grrr:  :??

The pattern ends with yo, k1 and then k2. Did you take that into account?

When I did a quick count of the stitches used for row 3, I came up with
3 at the beginning
(10 repeats of 16)
2 at the end = 165

Yes, it says (yo, k1) three times, k2. I did it and checked and rechecked my work. I guess I will just work ahead and see if it affects the pattern. I dont know what to do.

Well if the last bunch of stitches are `yo, k1, end k2' then you actually do k3 on the end.

That's right hydeemaree so you thn knit the last two to complete the row.
When suzeeq referred to knitting 3 she was meaning after the yo.

But your original post stated you had 3 left, so I guess I don't know which you mean...

No, don't rip it out! You're supposed to have 3 stitches left - that's what I was trying to tell you. The pattern goes `yo, k1' 3 times, then k2 at the end of the row. After you do the last YO, you knit 1 in that set, then k2. You need 3 stitches to do that.

I think that she is saying not that she had 3 stitches left after the YO, but 3 left after the YO K1, instead of 2. But I'm getting confused so I could be wrong.

Okay, I could be confused too.... maybe she'll explain a little bit more in detail.

You are correct!!

Well, I am not sure what you did to achieve that, cause the pattern should work out right, but if it doesn't affect your patterning too much, I would just decrease one of the stitches, and forget it ever happened :teehee:

Well I frogged it and I am working on another pattern!
