I don't think I'm the only one that hasn't received a box. I do not want to singled out.. Maybe if all of us who hasn't received a box should redraw names..I just don't understand ... no.. not going to go there.

I have enjoyed giving... it's been fun meeting new friends, making new things, and trying to find the right gift for someone else.

SO.. If you haven't received box #1.. please let me know...

Big Bear hugs...

I'm the yarn elf sending a box to Snephanie since she didn't have a partner. I'm working on box #2 and hope to mail it out some time next week. I know a few people had wanted to contribute (and I've gotten some lovely things already from at least one!) so I thought I'd send a reminder.

Snephanie- you will be so pleased!!!

if you want to send something along- pm me and I'll send my real info.....

It's a feather and fan shawl in berroco denim silk - it looks sort of shiny in these pics, but it's not - it's more rough silk that got fairly soft in blocking. It's a little uneven at the midpoint in the back. I loved doing it, but is this something someone would want?

is it mine???
I hope it's mine!
(:woot:)

but I can wait.
don't tell me.

I have almost my whole second pkg together, except for the knitting. but I need more information! so if you think I have you, please go answer my feet question. :poke:
please. :poke:

:poke:now, please.

I'm trying to make stuff for the second box, but for once, I just can't get the gauge right... or find the right pattern for the yarn I picked.... frustrating! I'm almost done with one item, but I really wanted to make a second...

I'm getting to them all now. I'm sorry I didn't notify you that I was leaving, things were kind of hectic.

Please let me know either via email or PM of any issue you are having and I'll get on it right away.

I'm backing out of the swap. I will send my 2nd box.. without question. It is almost complete. I had asked not to have or be with an overseas knitter. My choice. Yet, that is who I was paired with. Now it comes to find out she is without internet service.

Yet she knew the dates of the swap.. and hasn't backed out of receiving boxes.

I am glad of the friend I have made for the swap.

Like I said,I've gained from the experience... and like life, there are bad apples in every walk of life.

Let it die..

She isn't worth it if she doesn't fulfill her commitment.

I've made a great friend, and that is worth more than anything

Have a great Beary Day!

I had asked in the beginning of this swap to PM or email me with any issues with the swap and not have them be put on KH.

I received an email TODAY and promptly dealt with it. I think bringing it here is not fair, and wish it wasn't done.

Life happens, things get in the way of our plans, I certainly know this.

I didn't expect for my aunt to get into a accident and keep me away from KH, while visiting her and trying to help as she suffered two broken legs.

When questionaires were sent out, The question was...
6. Your preference on possibly SENDING to someone in another country?
(Don’t Mind Sending or Prefer Not To)

(this says nothing about the person who is sending TO you)

The person who has Snowbear lost internet connection for weeks. I have their "real" email address....I'm sure most of us created a fake address to contact our swap partners...I know that she has her real address on her cell phone...she probably didn't have it set up to receive emails on this fake account.

Also, the due was to mail out by July 1st. Not that your swap partner receive by July 1st.

Being an international sender, there could be many reasons why it has taken this time to get here to the states in time.

Like I said, I wished certain things weren't said about this on the forum. It hasn't been that terribly long since the deadline to mail, and I have a feeling there will certainly be hurt feelings when this KH'r returns to the forum.

Since snephenie has gone ahead and stated more.. when I have asked to let it die I will reply.

She (the other knitter)has been in contact with everyone but me? (sounds suspecious)

She hasn't stopped receiving boxes.. but can't find a way to contact me? I've e-mailed her several times.. she knew how to contact me here if she wished.

I replied many times.. I have made a new friend and am very happy.
If the other knitter doesn't care about commitment that is her choice.

I have enjoyed finding gifts for my knitter.. its' been fun.. and like life there are always a few bad apples. snephenie has singled me out when I have asked to let it go.

I haven't noticed the other knitters name appearing..but was singled out by snephenie when I asked to stop posting about this. but I am not petty..

I stated things to snephenie in private she choose to air.. obviously I do not appreciate that. I am not judging. I have mearly stated it is fine, let it die.. and I'm glad for my knitter.

Please.. no more posts to this.. let it die.. and everyone enjoy their swap. I can't wait to see my swapper's reaction to her next box.

I realize you asked that this be put to rest, but seeing how you put it out here for everyone, I dont think you get to decide when we are allowed to make a comment. I think you were a little out of line with your criticisms, and you are definitely coming across negatively. You got scr*wed, I get that. But I dont think taking it out on Sneph is the way to go. If you had been a little nicer, and given her a chance, I'm confident she would have fixed the situation. There was someone in the last swap who never received their box, and it was taken care of. You have to remember, you are taking a chance when you are dealing with people you dont know. Does it stink that someone would deliberately not send you a box when they had gotten theirs? Yes. But people are people. And it doesnt sound like thats what happened here, anyway.
I just felt like I needed to post in Steph's defense. She really has done a lot of work for all of us in putting this together. Next time, dont get involved. Sorry if you think this is negative, but you set the tone here. I think you owe Steph an apology.

:hug:Hugs to snephanie:hug:

I had stated earlier that to let it drop. It wasn't. She has stated several things in private that I will not go into. I am only upset that this has gone this far. I have stated many times that I have enjoyed the swap and truly enjoyed getting to know another knitters. Seeing the gifts and getting all the ideas.

I have also stated that in life there are ups & downs. I replied to posts.. and stated it didn't matter.. I was happy shopping, knitting and having fun.

I am use to life.. as I'm sure all are.. There are things that have been posted that are not totally true.. but that I'm being told I've been told such & such.

As I've stated.. I'm finishing my box to my knitter.. and hopes she enjoys it.

Life isn't fair.. but there are never promises. Life isn't perfect.. , and no one is perfect. Perhaps snephine shouldn't have posted what she did.. perhaps I should have not responded to the others questions.. what is done is done.. what matters now is where it goes.
The swap has been about 99% great. That is awesome. It has given others a chance to truly enjoy the gifts of others, to get to know and to share things.

Let's focus on that.. and let this line go....

And everyone has opinions.. however without all the facts.. one can not know the entire story.

I have been keeping this all in pm's but feel that I need to post iit here in Snephanie's and also in Snowbear's swapper's defense .

I only know that her swapper has been without internet access for a few weeks, I emailed and pm the swapper on the other board that she and I are members on and got no reply here or there, another person on that board passed on the message that Snowbear had still not recieved her package#1, to the swapper by an email that she uses on her phone, she then emailed my , when my email was passed on to her and said that yes she has mailed the package, not sure what the delay is, but it is being shipped internationally , so maybe that takes longer in some cases.
I pm'd snephanie when I recieved that email, this was before I came over and read this thread.

The swapper hopes to have her internet access back soon and then can access other email accounts and addresses and reply to this thread herself.

Sometimes things get out of our control and we have to do what we can. Hopefully the package arrives soon.

Thanks for organizing this swap, Snephanie.

I think I need to point out that the package WAS sent out, and the person sending it is overseas, which is why it is taking so long. It seems I didn't make that clear in my previous post.

Awww....so SAD! I hate when things go wrong. :pout:
But, sometimes they do. That's just life, you know.

I hope that you end up with a wonderful package soon, Snowbear!
:muah:

And I hope the international swapper will feel welcome when she returns.

What a bummer that there was a misunderstanding. :(

Here's hoping this is one of those "transitional" sort of posts.

This sounds like a monumental series of miscommunications, and unfortunate events. And when you think about how often this happens when a person is acutally standing in front of you, then add technology and typing, and it's amazing more isn't miscommunicated. And I get that it's not just about a box of yarn at this point. I'm sure there are hurt feelings and anger all around, and I'm not trying to minimize them. But I would hate for this to taint the swap, or future swaps.

I was quite new here when this swap started, didn't know what one was, no expectations. This is, in fact, the only forum I do, no blogs, no chats. Through this swap, I not only got to know my awesome swappee and swapper, but I got a feel for a great number more - and I love it here now. I would hate for there to be negative feelings about swaps in anyway for all the future "me's" out there. And for all of us in this swap now.

I hope all the hurt feelings get resolved, and I really hope I didn't overstep a boundary here, but I just wanted to help move us on.

Thanks threesmom-- I didn't quite know what to say but I think you summed it up. I've been around on KH for a while, and this is my second swap, and I've loved both. I don't meet many people out in my little corner of nowhere, and both times I have gotten to know some wonderful people. I've also gotten to try some yarns I don't usually have access to... I'm just happy to have new friends!!

Everyone's yarn is so pretty!!

I'm really sorry there has been some hurt feelings. Sneph if you need someone to fill in I would be happy to do that. I'm sure you are already looking into everything and it will be cleared up. HUGS!!

And since we all seem to be in some dire need of yarn porn. I honestly think she had help from the store owner. Cause she bought the correct size needles and everything. The yarn is made by Seacoast handpainted and the color way is baby rainbow. Totally fitting and the reason she bought it. We met through an online forum when we were pregnant with our now 18 month old sons. And the lotion she got is so yummy! I honestly think it smells good enough to eat.

I just put my second package in the mail... well at least part of it. I finished the item I made for my swappee and I also had gotten a book for her that got mailed. But I ordered beautiful hand dyed yarn on Ebay too and it has been 3 weeks and it has not come yet.

But I have to have kind of major sugery tomorrow (I am a wreck!) and I did not want to hold my partners package up - so she will eventually get 2 packages. I will be out of it for a few weeks (no driving, no lifting, etc) but as soon as I can I will get the yarn out to her.

SS - I am sorry.....

Unfortunately my package won't go out to my pal until probably last minute. I have a little something I want to knit, but I need to finish up my Sockapalooza socks first. Plus I am still deciding what all to put in the box. I know my pal is very experienced and probably has all she needs for knitting supplies. This is tough!

PLEASE READ

I just received an email from Sue's (snowbears cousin).
Her cousin was asked to come help Sue with a dr's appt.

She was dx with a Brain Tumor. The doctor and her cousin noticed her behavior had changed and they have been told this was a side effect of her dx.

She asked her cousin to email me and apologize for the things that were said in private and on this board.

She also expressed her embarrassment and that she would not be returning.

Sue wanted me to relay this information to the board and to ask for forgivness for whatever was said.

I feel confident that the community we have here has no issue with extendending that forgiveness to her and also prayers (or well wishes) for a recovery.

I also relayed that no one here wants to to stay away from KH and we will welcome her back when she returns.

wow. snephenie, please pass on our well wishes and let her know she is welcome always! I haven't been a member long, but thought her behaviour seemed a bit odd. usually she is very kind and helpful and thoughtful. i am glad she has family to help her and who noticed she needed more help. I'd hate for snowbear to feel that she couldn't be apart of our comunity for something she had no control over

I hope Snowbear comes back as well. Perhaps there is somewhere we could send get well cards, i.e. to her cousin, or someone who actually knows her, and they could deliver them?

I hope that once she understands that we know the comments were the product of illness, she will feel comfortable coming back if she is able to.

Just a note.. as I need to watch her.. she's finally taking a shower... I showed her the kind words from snephenie.. and others.. and advised her she should not worry about coming back.

She is in limbo for right now.. till the next Dr. appoint Friday.

Thank all of you for your prayers and kindness in forgiving her.. It has meant a great deal to her and a big load off her shoulders. I'm trying to work out all the things that really are bothering her.. and this was #1!

I'm going to be staying here with her for awhile.. and I'm going to try to get her to come on tomorrow...

Know each & every one of you means a great deal to her.. This, your forgiveness has meant more than all the tranquilizers the Dr gave her....

I know she can rest now better.. knowing she is welcome.

I'm about to get my first lesson in knitting.. wish me luck... I can paint.. but have never tried needleworks of any kind.

I agreed to try if she would take a nap.. lol I think we both won.

Bye for now... thanks again.. and His Blessings...

Lynn...

I do hope Snowbear is well, and only wish her the best.

I feel funny posting a good thing after all that but I made a promise to post my pictures and I want to show how great my swapper is!!

My first package of yarn was Knit Picks Shimmer, in Morning Mist, and a pattern to go with it! also a cute card and kitty toys for my kitties! I couldn't find those to take a pic, they are all under the couch I'm sure!

http://www.greenmountainaccess.net/%7Eblackmetal/images/Swap%20presents/yarn.jpg

The next package was amazing! She had sent a letter, explaining each gift and gave each present a sticker to correspond with the explanation in the letter! It was so much fun opening each package, like a treasure hunt!

First was a sock coin purse, because we both might get up the guts to knit socks someday!

http://www.greenmountainaccess.net/%7Eblackmetal/images/Swap%20presents/sock.jpg

Next was post its for patterns:

http://www.greenmountainaccess.net/%7Eblackmetal/images/Swap%20presents/post%20its.jpg

Then came a post card from the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam! Yes my partner went to Europe and actually bought me presents!

http://www.greenmountainaccess.net/%7Eblackmetal/images/Swap%20presents/post%20card.jpg

Then a lace umbrella from Brussels, it's beautiful!

http://www.greenmountainaccess.net/%7Eblackmetal/images/Swap%20presents/umbrella.jpg

This is from Paris! Let me repeat that, PARIS! I love it!

http://www.greenmountainaccess.net/%7Eblackmetal/images/Swap%20presents/scarf.jpg

Then the knitting: she apologized for her knitting, like she needed to! The hat is beautiful, and I love it! The whole family does actually, everyone has worn it and my boyfriend was wearing it to bed last night!:rofling:

http://www.greenmountainaccess.net/%7Eblackmetal/images/Swap%20presents/hat.jpg

Then the sweetest thing I thought, she bought these books for my boyfriends kids. I was so touched by that, and the kids loved them.

http://www.greenmountainaccess.net/%7Eblackmetal/images/Swap%20presents/books.jpg

I can't tell you how great and creative and thoughtful I thought the gifts were. Thank you so much!

*resting on an ice float....... humbled & embarrased...

Hi..

I can't express enough how sorry I am for what I posted. Thank all of you for forgiving me and allowing me to remain.

Lynn has been a rock... and believe me.. I appreciate her. She now knows how to cast on.. and knit... she is doing awsome, and only dropped 1 stitch without realizing it in 3 rows! I'm impressed. My first attempt was horrible, lol

Lessons are over for night.. and I'm tired.. meds make me sleepy... so I'm going to turn in...

I just want to thank you for your support and kindness & forgiveness. I just want to share something with you.....

I'm going to knit this stupid tumor right out of my head.. who is with me?
I challange each of you who wants to.. to knit a washcloth with the though of knitting the tumor out of my head!

Then.. when we all get that done.. let's send them all to a worthy cause.....

I will beat this tumor... I will continue knitting, and I WILL WIN!

BIG POLAR BEAR HUGS TO ALL!

*slips back on her ice float.. and lets the soothing coolness and the water rock her to sleep.... * waving a paw as she drifts..

You poor snowbear, Big bear hugs to you with oddles of strength. I'm so glad you didn't stay away. You have exactly the right attitude towards your tumor, fight, fight fight, all the way.

I've got my swapper a book, it came in the post today, then I had a mild panic, should I have bought her a book? It's a book published in the UK what if she can't find the yarn? I have done a bit of sewing for her yesterday, it was nice to do a little something.

Snowbear, you are always in our thoughts and prayers! :muah:

I have some idea of what you are going through....my dad was diagnosed with a brain tumor about 2 months before my wedding...and it was an absolute nightmare time in our lives....we cried, we hugged, we prayed.....he had surgery which lasted 10 hours which I think was the worst 10 hours of our lives. But the end result? He made it through, they removed the tumor, and he was able to walk me down the aisle a month later.

So keep your chin up, your hopes raised high and your spirit strong, and you can conquer it!!!!!!!

Big hugs to you.....:hug::hug::hug:

I dug in my stash, lol & found the perfect color.. she is catching on fast... I've shown her purl.. and she is a natural. So.. enough of practice.. she's started the dang washcloth!

gezzz i don't even want to remember by practice piece....*shudders

Thanks one and all... I'm humbled...

I'm trying to deciede where to send the washcloths... I want someplace that can really use them.. I'm thinking ( which as we all know can be a bit dicey...) maybe a women's shelter.

I've 4 projects on my needles...lol I've never had that many before...

The Dr. appointment is Friday... and I'll let you all know what is going on then..

Until then, I'm knitting.. trying to finish up my 2nd box... and lol at Lynn fly on her washcloth... There ought to be a law against someone picking up knitting so freaking fast..

She says its due to me.. huh.. I've shown her Amy's dvd,, a million books & webs.. and she stated enough. sit.. knit.. I'll watch.. so I did & she did, now she does...

OK.. brain overload.. take care all.. we need to see more yarn porn!

OK.. I'm home....

The Dr. was very positive.. he wants to try this new med to see if it will shrink the tumor w/out surgery. We try it for 4 weeks... then rex-ray.

The success rate for tumors this small being obliviated is 85%.
That's good odds. The med won't make my hair fall out.. but will make me tired. I start treatment Monday.

Three times a week for 4 weeks = 12 treatments.

We check after 6, then after 12.

I refuse to beilieve it will not work. I have a total positive attitude
With this many people supporting me I can't help but win.

Lynn is going to be able to be with me during this time. I may be able to work off and on.. it just depends on how tired I'm feeling.

SO.. until 4 weeks.. keep knitting those washcloths.. sitting them aside.. and I'll find where I want to send them. I've a speed demon w/ me.. Lynn is 1/2 finished. She is scary!

If you want to knit them.. that is awesome. PM me with any questions.. I don't want this forum taken up my me ... too much yarn porn to be looking at!

Lynn is loving things.. she is becoming hopelessly addicted!

We're going to do a few errands today.. and plan on knitting all afternoon!

Big Bear Hugs to all... I've a few more posts.. then we're going to get the errrands done.

I can't wait to go get some baskets...jo-ann's have them on sale.. then back to organize, then I do see I need to order needles & stuff so I have my own.. I do like the online yarn companys!

THe Dr was very positive and I know w/ the tenacity snowbear has.. that tumor will run for cover.

Take care.. off to run some errands and back for more knitting... I never knew it could be this fun!

Hi.

We're home & snowbear's taking a nap.. We raided Jo-ann's for baskets.. Wally world for plastic containers,, and uh hm some more yarn accidently found its way in the car at Joanns..

I have sorted... (* yeah right, lol) some of it.. I've kept out the yarn I want for now projects.. I'm finishing up the washcloth no matter what.. Then.. I'm going to be making a scarf or 3...lol

She is working on her secret pals knitted object to finish...

We're going to try to go to a stitch & talk? tonight at her lys... but I do think that will be dangerous as they have yarn!

I want her to stay up beat.. and have given the lys ( I think that's the right inital) the heads up as to the situation.. So.. if something is said... they will understand.

I'm back to knitting.. take care & thanks soo much..

We're watching for the mailman.. hopefully we can post her box soon!

clb1968, I love the purse. lucky you.

I have to share this as we are getting ready to go to the sit & knit...

Her credit card company called today to ask if she was the one using her card for so much yarn...:roflhard:

They stated that since she had never visited those types of stores before.. and the large.. ( lol oh yeah large) orders she was placing online they redflagged her card.

After she turned red a few times,, and hung up , she explained what had happened... I lost it... I've needed a good laugh, and I truly enjoyed it.

I'm glad they checked, lol but I think we all need to admit what enablers we are, lol

We're off to the sit & knit.. take care... thanks for all the support for both of us.... !

There is always another time, and she needs to take care of herself.

I have place a rather large.. (ok huge) order for more yarn & some needles... I'm going with Denise's... The pink set.. Survivor of breast cancer here..

I did find out my credit card company was more than happy to raise my limit...:?? not sure if that is entirely a good thing..lol

I'm glad I'm able to contribute to some laughs..

Yes, Lynn , I too am finding that knitting costs me . DH is pretty good about it so far , he likes that it keeps me busy and that I have something to show for it when I get done.

I made a knit picks order myself yesterday. I think a couple of family members will be getting purses like I recieved from my swap partner for Christmas.

Hurray for the good news Snowbear!! Keep that fighting spirit!

When I first started with the yarn, my credit card company did the same thing! It's so nice they were looking out for me ... it hasn't helped though - I totally expect then to call now when I HAVEN'T made a yarn purchase. And yes, I sneak the packages into the house now :aww:. My husband never complains when I buy things. In fact, he encourages it! Sometimes we'll be together at a yarn shop or craft store, and I'll be looking at something. He'll come beside me and say, "Go ahead and buy it. You know you'll be wishing you had if you don't."

Hi guys.. We're throwing this question here.. because you are aware of the situation, and it's easier since both of us are on the fence for this question.

As you all know, Lynn is a knitting natural.. ( soft growl) She has almost finished her washcloth... made another trip to the lys today on her way home from packing up.. ( since she didn't get to stop last night was her excuse, lol)

There has come a question concerning lighting.

I have a plain light bulb in an pole lamp.

She thinks we should get one of those special lights...

We both agree we don't need the magnifying part since we do knitting, and not fine needlework...

But.. what kind of light... dozier... etc.. and is a table, pole or what best?

I feel more confident asking knitters since they understand our situations.

Thanks ahead of times.

Shandeh

If she has a designated chair for knitting, then I would recommend either a table or floor Ott lite. That light would take care of her for the rest of her life.

If you have a Hobby Lobby nearby, she can use a 40% off coupon to get one this week!

I have an OTT lite lamp & also use a pole lamp that I can shine over my shoulder and out of my way. sYLVANIA dAYLIGHT (BLUE) bulb.. the pole light I can adjust easier... and since it is not right on my work it isn't as HOT :sun: It was also less $$$ to buy the bulb instead of the lamp... :psst:

Snowbear had a rough day...

They didn't give her the correct dosage of anit- nasua meds... so.. that was rough... then.. she had to sit for 45 min... & they wouldn't let her knit!~

This old battle axe of a nurse was rude.. she had her crying.. I stormed into the DON..(Director of Nursing) ... and uh explained to her the situation...

The DON & I went back to her room, just intime to hear her.. (the battleaxe) being condenscending to her for being nasauted.. ( upset stomach.. can't spell)

The DON, told her to wait in her office.. called the DR.. got the right meds, stayed w/ her , and let her knit.

Then.. all heck broke loose.

Her DR. came storming in.. the original orders were correct the battle axe had changed them..( she is now fired, and her license is suspended. and I don't know what else) due to her weight. She listed snowbears weight as 120... well.. she weighs a bit more.. and blamed her for gaing so much weight!@..as if she gained over the weekend and let's just say it's more than a few pounds...

(I do know better than to reveal exact weight.. she can get testy)

We're home.. and she's trying to unwind...

Emotional isn't even describing it. But.. They did start the meds. in the correct dosage... for the tumor.. that is a good thing.. She's just not up to talking tonight.

I was given instructions to post...lol I use to change her diapers, now she's ordering me, lol

Anyway.. take care all... keep good thoughts. we go back Wed, and have already been assigned 2 special nurses.. and they only will touch her.

lynn, i'm SO glad you're there to stick up for snowbear. it's really hard to do that when you are at the mercy of people taking care of you. hard to stand up for yourself when you feel shitty. i'm glad they took care of that situation immediately! sorry to hear that woman lost her job, but sounds like she wasn't doing a good job of it!!

finishing my knitted project tomorrow at lunch. then i need to get to the store for the assorted goodies (and maybe a few for myself...i need a needle gauge reader...my options are all over the place!). owen has some dr's appointments, bloodwork and an EKG on wednesday, so we'll see how he's feeling after that. if he's miserable, we'll go home and cuddle instead (sorry swapper!) if not, we'll stop and shop!:cheering:

snowbear
07-23-2007, 11:17 PM
Just a short note....

Lynn has explained what happened... (teach them not to let me knit... ) but what it was she didn't give me full dosage... blamed it on me... like I can really loose over 25 lbs in 3 days... If I can.. I'll patent the diet.

I was knitting on my project.. when Lynn commented what a pretty turn it had made...uh it isn't supposed to turn... so... I frogged it.. about 3 inches....lol

Take care... I'm in & out of dopey feeling.. so quit knitting the good stuff and went back to my washcloth..

Bear hugs...

Snowbear, sending huggs your way. I now how difficult it is just to get the right dosage on meds.

I have a head CT for Thursday morning, I have had a headache for over a month now, dont know if it's stress or something else. My daughter has another test that afternoon, an EMG, still trying to find out why or what her muscle weakness is from. on top of all that the mail order pharmacy messed up my prescription for diabetes testing supplies, I test 6 times a day, so with my new insurance it is cheaper to go mail order, so I get the dr to write out the script and mail it in with a $95 copay for a 90 day supply and they only sent enough for 40 days. So now I am trying to get the doctor on the phone to call them and get it fixed.

Snowbear & Lynn,
so sorry to hear of the fiasco at her ist visit for treatment. talk about ripping a head off. My step-dad went last Wed to a lung specialist (he'd been referred) for breathing problems.... Dr took x-ray and prescribed oxygen that was delivered that night. Next day neighbor broke in at our request because Pop was not answering the phone... EMT's took to hospital he was unresponsive. Friday I'm visiting him the DR. came in...Pop was awake by then.. I asked Dr what the x-rays had shown... Uh I haven't gotten the results. (even I know the results are downloaded on computer and he would have had them by the next day) Since this was now the 3rd day and he hadn't read them I climbed his backside!!! hello in Lung class 101 if a patient is referred to you for breathing issues and you take an x-ray READ IT!!!! I'm still livid.. He also balked the family on Hospice care for Pop... He didn't want to rush that.. Pop died last night.... I am no faith in that Dr....
off my soapbox. I'm glad Lynn was there for you!!!!

I am so overwhelmed by the generosity of my swap pal I don't know where to start!

Okay, I am a passionate surfer. I've spent most of the summer traveling to many wonderful places :)

Well, my partner sent me a "surf" themed package to die for!

First came the "surf board" sock bag. I'm so crazy over it!

Second - the hawaiian print DPH roll. Isn't it beautiful?

Third - Surf themed stitch markers! I tried to get a good picture but they are...Seahorse, Adirondak, surfer, starfish and a surf board. I am so in love with these!

But wait-there is more!
A bumblebee tape measure, a sweater keychain, 2 skeins of the softest kid mohair, some lovely labels for my knitted items AND a bag of treats for my Lucy Girl!

I don't know how to thank you, not only for your generosity but for the thought you put into my gifts. You are truly the best and since we live so close I hope that we can please get together soon. I would love to meet you!

My Secret Pal? Pandaca! Thanks so much Amanda:hug::hug::hug:

1st of all, my prayers are with all of you.

I love, love everything that everyone has gotten in the 2nd part of the swap.

I'm a tease, so I'm posting what I'm sending my pal now, she will then have to guess who I am! I did a good bit of knitting for her. Some ballband cloths for the bath, with a lovely french soap and bath fizzie: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/rebeccame/2007%20a%20new%20year%20in%20knitting/th_palsballbandclothgoodiesforbath.jpg (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/rebeccame/2007%20a%20new%20year%20in%20knitting/palsballbandclothgoodiesforbath.jpg) And, for the kitchen, a couple more ballband cloths and delicious tea: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/rebeccame/2007%20a%20new%20year%20in%20knitting/th_palsballbandclothteaforkitchen.jpg (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/rebeccame/2007%20a%20new%20year%20in%20knitting/palsballbandclothteaforkitchen.jpg) And for her thirsty days, a lacy beverage holder with a bottle of H20: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/rebeccame/2007%20a%20new%20year%20in%20knitting/th_palslacybeveragebagwbev.jpg (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/rebeccame/2007%20a%20new%20year%20in%20knitting/palslacybeveragebagwbev.jpg) (I've gotta make one of these for me, I love it!) and then the last thing, a top for her, Ribs and Lace Tank from IK: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/rebeccame/2007%20a%20new%20year%20in%20knitting/th_palsribsandlacetankfront.jpg (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/rebeccame/2007%20a%20new%20year%20in%20knitting/palsribsandlacetankfront.jpg)

Hi..we're home... ( ever try to tell snowbear she can't do something? lol don't try...)

mild case of food poisioning. She ate a local food place, and became ill.. I didn't but had different thing... a call to the health department has happened...

She is very weak.. in addition to being weak anyway...

but.. she wanted to come home.. and ever try arguing w/ a polar bear? it don't work.. she came up w/ more reasons than the Dr. had to keep her there.

She is in bed.. just saw the package from Shandeh for the oddball shawl project..

She is probably asleep.. She is going to be ok.. but needless to say she needs rest. They went ahead and gave her the next session for her tumor,, and now doesn't have to go back till Monday.

SHe has orders to rest... ( I have hidden the car keys and we are going to stay put)

Thanks for your concern... just wish they had kept the dang shake machine clean so she didn't have to go through this...

No.. I didn't drink a shake... she did... that was where the food poisoning came from.. & has been reported to the health department.

Sit on her? lol she'd tickle me and that'd be it...

I don't think my knees could handle that, lol

She's sleeping... thank goodness. I'm getting too old for this.. I'm making the next shakes!

Food poison sucks, I got it on Thanksgiving(had dinner at Boston Market) the year I was pregnant with my daughter, 8 months pregnant and puking, not fun at all.

My daughter had her EMG test for the muscle weakness she has, the test came back good, no surgery needed, just some pt exercises to help stengthen that side and check back next year. She had an in injury during her delivery at birth, the doctor said that her body healed its self mostly and that nothing needed to be fixed . So she is good . I am glad , was really worried.
I had my head ct and now I have to wait for the doctor to call me back.

i don't know about you guys, but i'm ready for summer to be done! i want the smell of fall, apple picking, apple cider, apple donuts, apple butter, acorn squash, pumpkin patches, and nice crisp cool evenings.

itsjustmegan-- ok.. now you have me hungry.. oh soo not fair..lol

I'm ready for the fire in the fireplace.. and the coolness of a fall morning!

Meghan and Snowbear, I totally agree. Bring on the fall! The ONLY thing I like about summer is the Indiana sweet corn, and since I haven't been able to have any for the past 2 summers because of my braces, I'd just as soon skip it. I'm ready for sweater weather.

In other news, I decided to try my hand at making some stitch markers for this swap. I've seen the beautiful ones that so many of you have made, and I figured I could do it too. Well, they aren't as easy as they look. :zombie: I finished them, but they definitely aren't as good as I was hoping (but they're good enough for me to still send!). There was a lot of swearing, frustration, and even a little blood, but I got them done. It was a good excuse to stay in and out of all that Brickyard traffic today.

now you know how much i love to eat! fall is all about food and smells for me. i LOVE the smell of fall. that smell of leaves with a hint of burning logs somewhere carried along by a crisp cool autumn breeze. ahhhhhhh......

i bought apples today so i can make some apple turnovers. bring it on autumn! i know it's just july, but i'm ready for you to show up right now! get moving!:tap:

Thank you all for the kind words about the hat and scarf!

Snowbear- the yarn is Noro Kureyon, new color 214.

We don't really have too much of a fall in south Florida, but I'm from central NY and we always had fantastic falls! Full of bright leaves, crisp mornings and apple picking! Makes me miss home sooo much!

I am definitely ready for some cooler weather....

i sent my 2nd box today!!! i'll give my swappee about 10 days... she's having some difficulties, so if she doesn't post pics, i put some up ;) the box weighed 2 lbs 11.6 oz  i hope it gets to her fast

I love fall too! i hate being sweaty and hot, plus i can't seem to concentrate when its too hot. crisp mornings, just warm days and snuggle up nights!

It would be nice to have fall weather most of the year for me, I love the color sheme and the smells of fall.

The only this about the weather we are having now is, even though it is 90 during the day, the nights get cooled off to 70, with a nice breeze.

Everyones packages are looking good, I have to block my project, so I will be looking for a site to tell me 1st of all why I have to do it, and then how do I do it, and how should it look in the end.

Always, something to learn.

I love the yarn colour on the hat and scarf, I've used 'Noro' yarn, I love it, all the different colours blending like that.

I have now threaded all the beads onto the yarn and have started knitting up, this is my first time knitting with beads but so far so good. My swapper knows who I am but I won't say until everyone is revealed. I bought another (small) book for you today, I thought the patterns were just right for you, and maybe someone else you knit with!

It's nice that people are talking about another swap. I wouldn't be able to join in but I would be more than happy to organize one. I don't work and once this swap is over I won't have much to do. Give it some thought, I'd be only too happy to do it for you all.
