I took advantage of the sale at Chez Casuelle last month and bought a healthy amount of the mmmmmmm. Now what? LOL

What have you made with it? What would you like to make? I'm looking for some ideas :happydance: I have a nice amount in the worsted weight and a few hanks of the super bulky.

Thanks!

I have made a couple of scrunchable scarves and one very nice sweater. I want to make another sweater soon.

I have made myself . Heh.
As far as FOs--I made a long scrunchable scarf and a set of Fetching out of two skeins. And I made my mom a Coronet hat (which my dad promptly felted ) with another. I still have the leftovers from that ball and I pet it occasionally.

I'd LOVE to make a cushy winter sweater out of Malabrigo someday. And find a reason to purchase and use their new laceweight.

I think it'd make a great set of legwarmers or armwarmers if you're into that sort of thing, same with a vest. Or an earflap hat!

I made a Clapotis with it. MMMMmmmm is just so soft that when I got it, I just wanted to wrap myself in it.....so I made something I could literally wrap myself in....lol

WHy don't you use it to make a clapotis and join our knitalong. It is a really fun pattern to knit. I started one this week.

2 scrunchables, one almost-finished pair of fingerless mitts, Wicked sweater, the hooded scarf/bonnet from Knit 2 Together, and a hat. I have some in my stash (some? a LOT, really) that is designated for other projects, mostly sweaters.

I made a hat last week and I'm making another one with the rest of that skein, and I have a fantasy of making a big sweater for next winter with a bunch of different colors...

Thus far I've knit fingerless gloves (http://whimsicalknittingdesigns.blogspot.com/2006/11/touch-of-whimsy-fingerless-gloves.html), a hat (http://whimsicalknittingdesigns.blogspot.com/2006/10/touch-of-whimsy-hat-pattern.html) and 1 1/2 scarves (http://whimsicalknittingdesigns.blogspot.com/2006/10/touch-of-whimsy-scarf-pattern.html).
I would LOVE to have a cardi knit with Mmmmmmmm, but it just doesn't get that cold here, so I will stick with accessories, but oh, isn't it yummy?! I read a review (http://www.knittersreview.com/article_yarn.asp?article=/review/product/070517_a.asp) that I received in my email today about a yarn that is coming out that has the characteristics of Mmmmmmm with cashmere, too...sounds yummilicious, too:heart:

Thanks for all the ideas, everyone!

To those who've made a sweater with it, does it grow a lot? I think I remember reading on one of the KALs that the mmmmmm grew after a while. But I've had my eye on Wicked for a WHILE!

Rebecca, I love those gloves! I can see me now, knitting gloves (and scarves) in Mid May! HAHAH! My husband would commit me for sure.

Keep the ideas and pics coming!

Hey Vicky, I just found a Mmmmmmm online source here in the EU. I ordered 4 skeins (at 8.50 each) of a gorgeous blue that I want to knit a clapotis with. I can't wait till my package arrives!!

I made extra-long lace-up fingerless gloves from alterknits. for my aunt, who declines to take a picture, but they looked like this only longer and bluer, with burgundy ribbons.
I'm definitely making another pair, but for now I only have some lace I want to make a cardigan with.

I've made about 5 different scarves with MMMMMMMM. I love how soft it is and how it feels. Great for around one's neck.

I made a skirt but I really don't like it so I'm going to frog it and do something else with my pretties.

I just bought myself a skein of malabrigo last weekend, it was on sale for 30% off, so I figured I'd give it a try... Everyone has sooo much good stuff to say about it, and it felt so nice in the store, I figured I could handle paying about $13 for it... Anyways, I think I'm going to try making a hat with it, since I've found so many cute hat patterns..

How did the hooded scarf turn out? I've been drooling over that pattern and the sort of shrug/shawl too.

For the short sleeve, the pattern calls for 500-800 yards of worsted (they used Artyarns Supermerino). The long sleeve calls for 800-1100 yards. I have heard that many people have used more yarn than the pattern calls for.

Hope that helps! :sun:

I seriously don't want to sound like a total ignoramus, but WHAT THE HECK ARE ALL THESE PATTERNS YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT?
What's a clapotis, etc.?

here are some of the patterns
wicked (http://www.zephyrstyle.com/catalog/item.cfm/2367447/3974522)
clapotis (http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall04/PATTclapotis.html)
scrunchable scarf (http://www.knitlist.com/96gift/giftsscarf.htm)

most of the patterns mentioned are popular ones, you can always do a search through google and usually find the pattern and lots of pics to look at

I bought two skeins at 65 yards each. Does anyone have a scarf pattern they suggest? I'm a long thinner type scarf person. Thanks!

I ordered it here:

http://www.kemagie.de/index.html?handgefaerbte_merinowolle_malabrigo_uru guay_(_keine_lagerware_).htm

I ordered it early last week and got a quick reply from them that they would be ordering it on Wednesday and would let me know when it is ready to ship. I have no idea where they are ordering it from and haven't heard from them since then. I'll let you know how long it takes....

I hope this ends up being a good online source - they have some really nice stuff! :inlove:

I would think it could work for other things, too.

"I'm sorry honey, I couldn't do all the dusting today. My dang clapotis is acting up again"

"Oh I'm sorry, I couldn't pick up your dry cleaning... The dang clapotis on the car is squeaking again!"

"I can't babysit your kids today, I'm having a pretty bad flair up of Clapotis"

I love this yarn, it's so soft and easy to work with. I have made one pair of socks so far and have started my second pair. My daughters can't wait to put on their cozy socks and snuggle up in front of the fireplace this next winter. I even have requests from other people to knit socks for them too.
