so i'm trying to sub in some KP Shine Sport for this pattern http://glampyreknits.tripod.com/glampyrephotos/id92.html, and it just seems like the pattern is calling for an INSANE amount of yardage. if i calculate it out, it's saying i need 9 balls of shine sport for the medium. but it seems most people are getting it knit up in as little as 4 balls (same yards/ball) and 6 balls. i just think it's weird that i'm ordering about the same amount of yarn for my Rusted Root.

am i missing a fix in the pattern somewhere? or am i just not understanding how to sub yarn?!

I looked up Rowan Cotton on another website, and it is listed as 185 yards to the 50g ball which according the metric conversion website I looked up is equal to 169 meters. My guess would be that there is a typo on the pattern (see where it lists two separate lengths in meters). Therefore, if it calls for 6 balls at 185 yards, you should need about just over 10 balls of Knit Picks Shine. You may want to get 11 just to be safe.
