I just recently learned how to knit and I learned from the videos on this website. I learned the long tail cast on, without making a slip knot (the way she does in the video). When you do the first stitch it makes two pieces of yarn on the needle. Does this count as two stitches? I am doing a pattern that requires a certain number of stitches, so I don't want to make a mistake.
